  1. Great video. Excellent shooting, acting, editing and all that hard stuff. What makes it super awesome, is that beaming smile on your face at special times on the video. You are obviously, rather full on joy in your new life. Congrats Matt. You've done your job, which is to keep her happy. All the ditches and work is ancillary to that. Lots of love to you two. Thank you both, again.

Also there's a lot of great information in tbe comments. It seems to be getting more accurate and wise every episode. Your followers ROCK.

  2. Great video, doesn't matter what you guys are doing, or how you "Git-er-done", it's always good stuff, good show! Cheers to ya Mates!

  3. Beautiful place you have there. Lush, green and already has fruit trees and a river too. Very nice. I can imagine a nice house surrounded by all this nature. 😊😊

  4. If you do this in a week, it means that your children will be in high school when you start building the house. Seriously, 20 minutes and you're only talking about chicks?!?!? You risk becoming boring.

  5. Personally I would rather see you diving in to make sure the anchor is holding, I have done the things you are doing now so nothing new. Don’t see the reasoning in the entrance at this time,or the interest in chickens and cats, more important things to be done.

  6. Hey guys, get the kittens. Some stainless bulls, plastic bulls, Harbor bacteria. And it cabecause acne and cats especially around their chin. It's a lot cleaner to use stainless if you can find that in puerto rico

  7. Your property is BEAUTIFUL. You could do a video with just the drone and video footage of your property. Funny, I watch the YouTube channel “What the Hales” they have chickens also. Whenever they are recording near them the Rooster starts hollering also.

  8. Have you thought of a couple of Saanen goats? Very loving animals and good milk producers. Also help keep jungle in check, but they are selective browsers, so one needs to keep them controlled or they will seek out all your coffee or all your Guavas,.

If you want to catch those shrimp, we set nets for them with a little bait in them in the form of a cone, and they lie flat on the river bed with the bait on a string spanning the hoop. Give them an hour or so and pull them up–who knows? More elaborate traps are a box net with a tunnel entrance. Those can be left overnight.

Nearly all bananas start with a really big flower, because under it are the beginning bananas. Bigger the initial flower, bigger the bunch.

Iguanas love to eat vegetable seedlings–so they need to be kept out of any garden area.

Love whet you two are doing.

  9. Hi guys I was born and raised in P.R. now live in Colorado and by the end of next year we will move back to the Island( my wife is a Gringa lol) we have a popular dish that we make with green bananas it's called Guineitos en Escabeche look up the recipe on line you should try it. You are a beast my respects for you and Kristen. Keep enjoying my beautiful island( it's not close to perfect but it's an amazing place to live in. Take care guys.

  10. If you wondering about the water quality, you may want to do a Google earth and head uphill and see if you can see the source of the water😅

  11. Guys, check out the gravity pump to transfer your free fresh water from the soruce to your desinated location. The huge benifit is (No electricity) require is all about gravity and pump pressure, make sure to check it out. 😊

  12. Matty what you found was the portion of a fresh water lobster 🦞 claw.. growing up in the Caribbean we fished in rivers for those critters.. the most effective way to harvest em is at nights with a torch 🔦 see, thats when they evacuate their holes in search for food. Trust me bro they're delicious!!

  13. Hola/ Hello!
    Green bananas-guineos verdes
Green short fat bananas- from where I come from in PR, we call them guineos mafafos
Wine-color like skin short fat bananas. We call them guineos manzanos
Green, small bananas- guineos niños (when they are ripe we fried them and eat them. SOO GOOD!)
And Green long ones are called plátanos/plantains.
If they are yellow, we call them plátanos maduros.

I really enjoy your videos! Can’t wait to see your new construction.
Have a Safe and Happy Holidays! Navidad in PR is the best!

  14. You guys are awesome! Please take YouTube comment advice with a shovel full of salt! (More than a grain)
Your chickens need protein just like you do. Corn is calories, it does not make your chickens “hot” it makes them fat and unhealthy but it’s a nice treat. My wife and I homestead and we have chickens and a garden and all the stuff. Diatomaceous earth is good for your chickens in small amounts. Scratch grains are good in small amounts. They need protein to be healthy and for good egg production. Crush up your egg shells and let your chickens eat it for calcium. They love banana leaves and banana peels too. Chop up grasses to feed them. Feed them some fruits from your food forest. Also, don’t get too caught up in gmo vs non gmo seeds. Most of that is fear mongering words to make you think some seeds are better than others. Keep up the good work and stay away from dookie shrimp!
