15. I bought a plasma TV back in 2005. The salesman at that time told me one of the companies was developing a TV that rolled up like a blind.

19. Another evolution at the bleeding edge. Don't get me wrong, the rest of us NEED the 'super-wealthy early adopters' who are willing to shell out for the absolute latest and greatest. Like the first, 3-chip DLP projectors or motorized and curved projection screens. I sold the very first extremely high-end, 50" plasma panels when they were 'new'… at $30,000 each… This too will pass. But, thanks!

20. If you are aboard a multi-million dollar yacht, why would you want a television anyway?

22. Good thing I don’t own a tv or have even watched tv in 13 years. I don’t know how I’d get that on my kayak anyway.

23. Main salon? Did they have hair dressers? What happened to the saloon? Poor me, that’s what my yachts had. Being a sailor is so much harder than being a POSH dock queen. On another level, watching TV is what the owner and guests do, then what a waste.

27. The waste of money on gadgets is ridiculous. Yachts tend to have similar relative values, even when Northern European yachts are compared to yachts from other countries (often 2x the price). The price of these televisions have no relative intrinsic value, even allowing for their brightness. There are fools born every day and a fool and their money are soon parted.

28. That rolling OLED TV is just insane. Do you have any idea what the nits are on the TV outside? Must be absurd, considering how sunny the superyacht environments tend to be.

33. This is impressive technology. I don’t own a TV for a reason. Just looking at that thing blocking the view of the ocean gives me anxiety

35. even on a small, say 15m, yacht, when installing a TV, the price of the actual TV-set is nothing compared to the installation costs: consider 1-2 days for taking the interior of the boat apart to hide the cables and wires for the TV, and then at last the same time to put everything back together again, before you can hang an operate the TV where you want it. TV: say 500 bucks, labor: (if cheap, 70 bucks/hr, two people for four work days): 2300 bucks.

36. The TV on the deck: The waether is nice, the sea is magnificent, the landscape around you is stunning. And you watch TV… There're a lot of things I don't understand actualy.

37. Now I've never set foot on a superyacht in my life, and probably won't ever (boo hoo) so maybe that's why I wonder why you'd want to watch telly when there's so much more to do? Again it may be me, but you've gone to Monaco, you've paid for mooring, you've paid for your guests, and you still have to watch the race on telly?

40. If you are about to comment on why anyone would want a TV on a yacht read this first… You are basing this point of view from someone who has probably never set foot on a yacht. And if you ever had the chance, maybe it would be for a week on holiday for example. In this case it's unlikely you would want to watch TV. You would make the most of the facilities on the yacht, you'd swim, jet ski, scuba, relax in the sun, have friends/family onboard, (did I miss anything?).

    Now imagine you are staying onboard for months, it's your second home, you will travel on the yacht, live on the yacht, spend months at a time there for the foreseeable future (maybe the next 10 years). In a day where you have spent most of it swimming, socialising, jet skiing, laying in the sun etc. etc. there comes a time where you might want to kick back and watch a movie, or maybe the Formula 1 or maybe a football game. Or maybe you are having a (pick your sport) gathering to watch it together with friends/family. So if you've spent this much money on a yacht why wouldn't you install the best TV out there? It doesn't mean you will sit there all day, every day watching TV, it is just another form of relaxation.

41. As one that doesn't own a TV….Do the expensive ones automatically delete commercials? Don't need it.

42. If you take off your polarized lens filters when filming tvs your footage usually is clearer.

43. Those C'Seed speakers alone are $23,000 a piece! Crazy.

44. Shit, that's nothing. My neighbor uses his projector to watch trailer park boys on the watertower.
