A few recommendations, particularly at night, reef early, balance the sail plan. If you have an inner forestay, use it. Start slowing down over 10 knots to windward. Never trust mooring balls over 25 knots. Replace the raw water impellers, clear the raw water skin fitting and screen, flush the heat exchangers and replace the engine heat exchanger anodes. Make sure skin fitting valves are free and clear, all engine hoses are double clamped. Spares for EVERY THING.

I love that you put family first. There is this phase of sailing. Go home, buy needed gear whatever your specific needs are. Your grateful hearts are what this world needs. I aspire to be as grateful as the two of you. There is only one of me, unless you count 3 cats that live with me. But who knows what the future brings. But at my age, well past 75, you need to get lucky. I am feeling lucky these days.

Avoid the yellow snow I'm told! Looking forwards to your EU adventures, I'm thinking you need to head to the eastern end of the Med to avoid the Schengen visa issues. Cruse the former parts of Yugoslavia and Turkey, although I'd stick with the western end of Turkey at the moment. Anyway ensure you take us on your travels 😀
