That whole roof moved up when putting pressure on those beams
My favorite feature is you two. I have been following since your Indian Town Florida days.
4:07 that sounded like an old 7.3L diesel cranking up!!
Have been watching for several years now, great fun. I’m a woodworker, not much fiberglass experience. Curious as to why Total Boat’s Thixo, is not part of your arsenal.
So may steps
OMG! Those white fittings are plumbing fittings, not conduit fittings it will be a nightmare to get wire through that if it's even possible. A 3/4 in. conduit 90° will have a 4 1/2 in. radius. After 27 years as an electrician, it almost hurts to watch you install that as conduit. Even if you get the wire through it now it will not pull out if/when you have to replace it. The insulation will harden over time and not pull around those plumbing 90°'s.
Still watching this never ending project! I wish, for your own sakes, that you had another couple of hands! Note, I'm not offering mine, but jus sayin'
Looks good, you guys are doing a great job. Well, except the backing plates. Hope it's not a major issue.
Good to see more big pieces going into the structure. I hope you can fit some insulation into the overhead. Won't it pay off in those scorching spots and high latitudes alike?
Are you going to place a coin on the pad when you step the mast? If so, what coin will you use? What about a 2024 (or year the boat is ready for the mast) 1/8 ounce Proof American Gold Eagle ( should cost about $335.00 (current price) when you buy direct at the U.S. Mint at West Point, N.Y.) :¬) Webhead USA
Yeah!!!! Another step in the right direction. It’s starting to look like a real boat now!
YOU GUYS ARE BEASTS! Kids … don’t try this at home! 😂
You’re doing such an awsome meticulous job ! What would you say your % of fiberglass work is finished ?
progress!
Difficult job that you manage to complete in style. Bravo! Mat, you’ve become an expert now, and Jessica, lucky you’re tall enough for holding the beam in place!😅
I love to see the great progress! How many structural pieces still need to be installed?
wow so exciting to see structure going in. We close the Toyota store at 7pm on Saturdays. I treat my self to the show before I go home. one Day i hope i build my own.
just a FYI there are a lot of carbon monoxide detectors that have been recalled over the years. I would recommend 2 different brands just to keep yourself safe.
If you ever lose one of your pull strings or forget to put one in tie a plastic shopping bag onto the string put a shop vac on the other end and it will pull it through.
Comfortable temperatures to work and apply adhesives.
You both look very tired. Take a break somewhere hot and recharge.
Where do the other cables coming down from the mast like radar, vhf, wind aso go?
This was a knock out!
I find your commitment to the project amazing. Can you use pipe primer on your conduits? It cleans and eches in one application I imagine you will have a few of them to run.
Why would you use plumbing fittings
If you run a double string through the conduits and leave it in you can ferry any added cabling for future revisions.👍
Im really proud on your catamaran project your dowing amazing stuff . Thanks for sharing !!!…👍👍
A few years ago you mentioned someone else purchased a boat kit; do you know how they’re doing?
More and more progress each week those beams are now bonded in place.
Just a thought! When you are pulling conductors through those pipes remember to always pull another string with whatever you are pulling to use for the next time!!!!!
I don’t live too far away. I would love to stop by one day and help.
Agreed. I cringed, as well.
Love you guys ❤❤❤❤
Gotta love modern technology, those laser levels make things so much easier.
Y'all will be floating before you know it.
You are amazing!
Probably said this before – but you guys are legendary.
Don’t know what your plans are for the headliner panels, but you’ve got to check out the Wyns latest video where they show a fantastic way HH is saving weight on the coach top liner.
Probably too late now, but some foam saddles inside that beam would make sure the conduit doesn't move.
Must be very satisfying to have the cabin in place. Did the large metal support posts come from the builder or did you have them made locally? Hope the string you used is strong – if it broke I don't see any easy way to snake more through the conduits. Nice work.
