There is nothing enjoyable about these foiling boats. I wish they would bring back mono hulls.
These announcers – surely world class yacht racers – but say a lot of words without any real analysis – at 29:40 "we might ask the question how come Alinghi foiling" without giving any analysis that made sense, saying it was foiling, zigzagging, keep boat elevated when others touched down, then immediately thereafter at 30:10 she asks "Glenn, talk us through what they're doing to … to keep foiling" Glen's reply was a lot of words without any concrete answer. Then at 44:20 Glen was asked a simple question, harder to keep the boats up on the foils upwind or downwind?, Glen answer was A LOT of words but did not give an answer as far as I could tell. I'm sure the announcers are proven boat racers, but either they are good at saying a lot of nothing, or they just don't know. Which makes me believe, unless you are actually sailing the boat yourself, you have no idea what keeps the boat foiling.

Whilst I love displacement sailing, it doesn’t make for great TV, but these one-design foiling monohulls are spectacular!
I sometimes still find it hard to fathom little New Zealand at this sporting level with only five other major nations. No sight of any Aussies, South Africans or Canadians.
Obviously the bookies are running this competition!
