3. I really wonder why she is leaving? Is it because the Caption uses inappropriate innuendo? I watched an episode not too long ago where a female guest mentioned raunchy language coming from the Captain. I would have to think twice as a parent to allow my child to join the crew.

5. Congratulations to the younger Zataras. Well done.

   But the congratulations is actually due in large measure to their parents. Eight years ago they made a decision to exit suburbia for their family. Probably there have been a lot of sacrifices but home schooling, actually keeping their kids the hell out of today's school system, and keeping them away from the very toxic culture that teenagers live in now has made the lot of them simply great kids and an even greater family. Of course, anyone can read between the lines here of this episode, but the Whittakers, all of them, understand family, loyalty, commitment and honor to themselves and to each other.

   In last week's episode, Miss Kate wouldn't give up on the untangling of a fishing lines/net caught below deck. She was like a dog on a bone and 30 minutes later realized she needed the cavalry and called them in. Her honor and commitment to her family and in doing her level best to free the boat was more than likely because it happened when she was on 'watch'. She took responsibility for what happened and committed to make it right. This is a remarkable young woman because she did not give up when the going got tougher.

   The difference…………

   Just saying.

You are a beautiful and so worldly experienced that your have such a wonderful family and up bringing, yes of course there are things and circumstances out there as also with Jack and Finn that need to be explored.     I grew up on the maine coast building boats and mucking about in boats since I was barely old enough to row.  

    Currently I own a marine electrical company that I started almost ten years back and still to this day, I envy those that have cut the cord and just gone for it on life long adventures such as yours.

    You've done a great job with your kids and it shows. They'll never forget growing up on the water. I sure look back on it, almost 50 years later. 

    Hell of a ride !

27. The market may have had lard on hand in addition to shortening. Your grandmother and great grandmother probably used lard in their baking, which is why pastries tasted so much better back then than they do now. Turns out that in many ways lard is healthier than shortening, which became popular because it was SUPPOSED to be healthier but recent studies show it's not as healthy as they originally thought.

30. For the crossing, are you planning to mostly sail, or motor, or a combination of both? Im assuming you cant carry enough fuel to go clear across just motoring?

37. The average fuel cost is incorrect. Looks like you used the average function for the column, and you have a null values below the prices which are then taken into account in the average. Just delete the nulls. It comes out to $6.77/gallon average. Ouch. Thanks much for sharing.
