Ättika in english is acetic acid
Another great chapter. By the way the fact that you work in the winter, heating the barn theres little humidity i assume and thats great for the lamination. Thanks again
I like the new intro
Thankyou 👍 i look forward to the turning process
😊 Halfway? On the hull build, WOW. So many wonderful results and attentions to detail happens when family pull together ❤️. Outfitting the interior will require a team of capenters equal to Johan's skills. Thanks for walking us through it, and some fun with the snow. Merry Christmas!
that bucket of acetone looks dangerous af, please move it to a vented room that is spark free
I admire how hard the two of you work
Fantastic work.👍⛵️
Who is the Industrial Engineer?
The 3 P's of any project; Patience, Perseverance and Profanity. Your upbeat presentation is impressive, you're a better man than I.
I agree with Captnbond regarding the use of acetone. Please be careful. A YouTube couple recently published details of an accidental acetone fire aboard their new catamaran.
What, if anything, are you doing to repair the bubbles that do form under the glass?
You make it seem and look easy.. I know better but you have definitely improved your fiberglass laying skills compared to the first time when you had all kinds of help.. the second half should go smoother and quicker than expected, especially with the saturation table
Ättika = Acetic acid, ethanoic acid or ethylic acid solved in water, 12%.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Outstanding work, as always!
If you haven't yet seen it I would recommend you have a look at the Duracell Project and how Matt has designed some quarter births under a very similar dog house to yours. To keep weight down but strength high he has used fibreboard covered in fibreglass for many internal structures. That might be something that you can incorporate in Ran 3 especialky as tou aregetting used to the glassing experience. He does occasionally use vacuumbagging too.
Definitely worth a look if you havent seen it already. Good luck 👍🏻
I hope someday you run the numbers of the cost and budget.
Great video
what do you use to cut the glass cloth? seems to do a really nice job
You guys are making great progress!
I'm curious about one thing, as I am looking at building my own yacht in the EU too. Will you be seeking to obtain a CE certificate for your yacht?
I've looked into the subject a little, but there is not much info available about it online. I know that one does not need a CE certificate for a recreational yacht that will be used by yourself (one cannot sell it within the 1st 5 years after it is placed into use), but it could introduce other issues if the yacht is not not CE certified.
We would call it acetic acid when used at those levels, Johann
Amazing progress, RAN Sailing! It's incredible to see the dedication and skill you both have in tackling this ambitious project. Your teamwork as a couple is truly inspiring – a valuable lesson for everyone. Keep pushing forward, and congratulations on reaching the halfway point! Your yacht is growing more beautiful with each episode. Can't wait to see the other side go even faster now that you've mastered the process. As always, your informative and engaging explanations make this the best series on the web!
Is there just going to be one layer of fiberglass on the hull?
Great progress! I actually saw a boat looking very much like your design renders here in our local marina in Nynäshamn, approximately the same size and with that saloon and negative front windows. It has a black hull that looks really good.
Congratulations on your progress,…this can only be accomplished with wonderful team work, and you two are the Best!!! Thank You for sharing.
Dear Johan & Family: We are so impressed with your dedication with your fabulous project. We are wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!
Congratulations on another big milestone in your project. Well done both of you !
