You have got to continue the story, absolutely loved this episode. ❤️
I love your story. I would really enjoy hearing more about the other boats too.
Yes, More Back Story!! I just rewatched #32 and wonder what the best boathouse design would be knowing what you know now. When you are able to walk the deck of your dream as you are realizing your dream, you can explore the future. I'm curious about the where of the keel yard, which gave you the wood, but also the weather. That's also the when, which is the available money of then. Running hard with what you've got; {=} southern anchorage & the future awaiting.
Congratulations & best wishes.
Love seeing the beginning, you two are the poster child(s) of doing life with the mindset of having fun and enjoying what you have. Thanks for bringing us along too❤
Nice listening and love story of each other and the ocean.
78 year old, previous Tayana 37 owner and I just love your whole story. Have seen all of your videos and always wondered what your backstory was. "Story of Us" is perfect. Fair winds and following seas
Of all your videos, from the first one which I've all enjoyed this one had my attention more than most I'm 83 yrs old and now Identify with whom you both really are. May God bless you! Henry
Wow, nice to know the story behind you guys! Garrett was born with fins! In terms of what I'd like to see (I love what you put out already), maybe explain in a bit more detail what each line does, and the sails, and such. I am not a sailor so it would capture my interest to learn more. Congratulations on following your dreams. I pray you continue on, that you remain safe, while inspiring many of us!
You guys are soulmates! Very rare and happy for you. I watched your videos about building Redeviva ( I’m sure I have spelled wrong but you know what I mean.) watched at least 100. Amazed by your talent, but more so by your perseverance! This is a good video. I knew that you had been together for a long time but 15 when you met and sounds like an instant spark.
Wow what a story! I really enjoyed hearing about how you started. I'd love to hear about each of your boats. Either one boat one episode or two in one would work well. This format worked for me so keep it up! Good luck at recovering your data!
Read Dove at 14, learned to sail at 15. 18' Hobie Cat. Faster dead into the wind than with the wind. A life long love affair.
Have been watching for years, Always enjoyable and a nice enduring and endearing story, This episode is one of my favorites. Thanks Ruth and Garrett
…and you’re still alive🙂
Viewing your channel from Tasmania, Australia (the wooden boat building state (albeit, small Island) of Australia) and it's wonderful to hear your sailing life unfolding, well done. On a positive, your HDD failing has opened up the opportunity to share content about your sailing journey, always a positive in life.
I don't have much to do with sailing and I have always watched you because you are people of great passion and on top of that you are normal, cool people.
This story about the two of you is a great complement but extremely important, to this vlog about boat building, travel, and how hard work allows you to realize your dreams.
All the best!!
When I saw the video about losing your hard drive, and you wondering what you were going to do, I thought this could be a disaster for you. But, no. When given lemons, make lemonade. Wonderful adaptation and thoroughly entertaining. I am completely impressed with your resilience and imagination. I will gladly watch more of this sort of content. Well done.
Nice work team! Its so great to hear your story. If its a story worth telling there's no sense in rushing the telling of it. Cant wait to hear the rest. Thanks for all the joy and inspiration you bring!
I would like to hear about each boat per episode best.
Take your time and tell the whole story. I love it.
It's really cool to listen to your history ,How would You guy like to sail round the UK waters on my ship with my wife and I for a few months next summer ,I will send you a email .
You are both amazingly articulate and the story of your life together is fascinating. Love, adventure and boats. Please carry on and fill in the time between where you took us today and where we got to know you through this channel.
Thanks for sharing and eagerly awaiting more.
I have a new appreciation for you guys! I love the story of the lifelong evolution that has turned you both into salty sailors. Keep going! I love the story!
Best. Episode. Ever! We loved hearing your story and can't wait for more. Speaking of stories: A few weeks back, I shared the episode where Garrett was wearing his La Zurda t-shirt from San Carlos with Juan and his staff at La Zurda. They got a HUGE kick out of it! LOL. We're cheering you on from the dusty boatyard here in SC! 🙂 Keep being amazing, you two! We hope to bump into you in an anchorage sometime.
Wonderful to hear your story! Looking forward to hearing more.
This format/episode was good. More please.
Very happy the drive failed! What a treasure! Emerald Steel 2.0 would otherwise have started in 2045 🙂 You have so much to share, For entertainment, but also the next generation of kids dreaming of a free life. Take as much time as you need to tell the story, I will be watching and listening for sure!
We loved listening to how you met, and learning about Garrett’s obsession with wooden ❤
I read that book, “Dove” as a young man back in the 70’s!Been sailing ever since! Was my inspiration also!👍❤️
Yes, keep going with the back stories, with as many pictures as you can! This is the perfect "filler" story(ies) before getting back to Rediviva.
Love the back storey. The format is great, don't rise ahead too fast 🙂
Great job!. Looking forward part 2 and beyond.
Really interesting for this viewing
I stumbled on to your channel when you were hand carving the mast and have been hooked on the build ever since. The back story fills in so many blanks. I look forwarded to the rest of the story don't leave anything out this is a life well lived chasing your dreams you both are great together.
Talk about the designs of each boat. What worked, what didn't. What you were looking for in the next boat. When you get to Rediviva, please share the details of why you chose her design, and what has proven to be as you expected (and what hasn't).
I love your stories and adventures, keep it up.
This is a great story about how you started your sailing lifestyle. Can't wait to see the next video and learn about your other boats and voyages.
Luv the story, you two are Awsome 🤘🤘🤘🍻🍻🌬⛵️⛵️
Love the backstory, having watched from day one. OK with more detail, find it, and yourselves, very engaging. Thanks
Was the trimaran you worked on a boat by the name of "webfoot"
Enjoyed the story. Great to hear some of the background of your lives.
Adorable! Truly an enjoyable viewing experience and I can’t wait for more.
I like the series.
