  19. In the end, it is quite simple. The boat was built in Asia by people who do not follow all the rules to the point. They want to make a profit. And above all be cheap. You can have the same boat built in Europe. And then it will cost double . It was and is your choice. So don't complain too much.

    Also: Props for being open about doing something embarrassing and dangerous with the head stay. I recognise the mechanisms. You obviously know plenty enough to understand that’s the wrong action, but sometimes the facts just don’t ring through. It’s called “being a human”. The less we are aware our own fallible nature, or even unwilling to admit our mistakes, the more dangerous we are.

  23. When I learned about the boat, my mind went to thinking how life chooses to humble you when you grab for something that is well beyond what you ever thought you needed but can now have. I figured there was a good chance you would find things to not work out the way you envision, and that grab changes everything because it’s a monumental, life altering grab. Then you find yourself asking what we’re you thinking, the excitement, time, energy, effort, commitment put towards it all unravels. Wish you guys the best.

  27. Great project. If the Starlink router is in an aluminum compartment it will have to worj very hard to get the signal out because it can't send though aliminium. They do tend to get warm. Best place is where there's no metal obstructions and ventilation..

  31. Let's go get some outback grub and screw the sailing until the builder gets it all straightened out. Quite evident the tri isn't prepared for the heavy weather. Will it ever be or is it meant to outrun storms?

  32. You expect teething issues, having said that the type of boat they’ve got is horrendous for doing what they do, with kids. It’s the equivalent of buying Ferrari, the petrol head driver loves it, the wife and two kids, not so much. Expect more Airbnb vids and marital drama, it’s not just the stress when things go wrong, that boat is so noisy and unstable. Perfect for a entertaining sail, not great as a home to relax and enjoy some family time. Good luck.

  35. my god Zam cheated death on the passage and while doing some rigging on dock , wow , that man needs a vacation , Zam is the person who was flying attached to the staysail without any working engines ?
