I had a chance to see this boat while you both were on board in Annapolis! Have to say that this is the bluewater crusing catamaran benchmark under 40ft!

If I were int the market for a new boat, Seawind the primary choice..

Needs a raise helm station, captaining from behind the salon makes no sense to me.
The 1170 is evidence of several things.
1. The designers at SeaWind are among the best in the business. Money cannot buy you a better design
2. That smaller does not mean compromised.
3. Since it is a SeaWind product, the build quality will be as good as the best. That cannot be said of some other big name "luxury" cat builders. These cats broke and many have remained unrepaired and no evidence of the company standing behind their product. What is better than a rock solid warranty? That is NOT NEEDING the warranty. This is where SeaWind shines. The structural design is on par with the layout design. Among the best structurally.

Completely disagree about the down galley! We chartered a 1260 and as the main cook, I hated it! Glad we confirmed that experience before buying! Even though it LOOKS like the gally is open to the saloon, I was still completely isolated from all conversation and found communicating with anyone up difficult. And if another person came down to "help" they were just in the way. Its definitely a one person space.
Nick, I'm surprised you didn't highlight the feature of a traditional toothbrush holder in the master head.

Is your 45’ a better ride than the 40’ when motoring into the wind? I have heard that cats less than 40’ “Hobby Horse” when running in short seas.
It will fit someone’s budget with small compromises
