Great episode…..such calming sailing with the natural music of SR cutting through the water. I'm not sure I fully understand the need for the heater exhaust elbow ? Is it to prevent rain being blown into the exhaust system when it's off ? I've got an eberspacher d5lc and I've never even thought about rain entering as the exhaust does a gentle rise inside the lazarett locker before dropping down to the heater. I think I'd feel a bit sad to leave such a wonderful cruising ground…..so glad you've taken your time and not rushed on through and glad we've been able to come along too .

The coldest water I've been in is about 50 F and I was only in it up to my knees. The pain in my legs was intense. I don't see how anyone can dive in that kind of water for any length of time, even with a wet suite on. Actually, I was standing in a river, so all of the heat from my legs were being immediately swept away… i suppose that made a difference.
