Din păcate, nu mai suntem la bordul Outremer 55 Moonshot. Termenele și destinațiile nu se amestecă bine la bordul unei ambarcațiuni de croazieră. Vom schimba vitezele pentru a-i face pe toți fericiți.

Great to hear an honest real update from cruising life, good luck ahead to both of you
Good decision you two! Covid recovery can take a long time and two weeks out to sea could be dangerous-I applaud your cautious approach! Megan please do not get on an airplane until you are positive you are strong enough to make the long flight! Best of luck to both of you we look forward to the O’Kellys back in the Caribbean!
Though heartbreaking, this reality check shows us how smart-thinking sailors you both are! Thanks for being so earnest with us. Lots of good things your way. We ❤ you!
Thankyou 👍
know your limits and act safely, seems to me that's what your doing 👍
As an outsider looking in, I´m actually excited for the next “episodes” as we will be treated to Nick´s view from the ocean and Megan´s from land…the race is on!
Wishing good health to you both. Smart decisions. Take care, Megan and Nick.
Best of both worlds 🙂
Outremer have made the trip a race, not a cruise. Great learning experience for Nick and best wishes for Megan's recovery.
Hey Megan & Nick … I am really sorry for this … just to let you know that covid is something not very well known … please take your time rest and recover your body … not all bodies react the same … some takes shorter … some longer … to recover … it has been … a long and winding road … please wait for the right time to enjoy it. My Very Best Wishes for both of you 🐧🐧🐧
Very supportive of your decision and can’t wait to watch the rest of this chapter
Thanks for sharing. Like 3.3K+
Much much respect for you both.
Your health is always number one. I admire your decision. I think it was very very smart. and if I’m lucky I’ll see you on the 10th or the 11th
But at least you wouldn't have a crowd on the ocean, at least as far as sailboats are concerned, because there aren't that many crazy people to cross the ocean now😁
Smart and the only right decision, stay safe and healthy
I was not going to comment, but being an oldie I recognise the symptoms, there comes a point in life where we move from the exciting and latest and fastest, to a more comfortable pace in life, I fear you may be at that point! So perhaps you should be thinking of a calmer type of catamaran, much like Clarity to be honest!! Just take care and look forward to your next step in life!!!
Great call. Full support. Health first! (I shared my comment on Instagram, too.) Last year a friend shared this bit of wisdom, "The most dangerous piece of equipment on a boat is a calendar." Outremer's agenda is an understandable business decision, but set dates increase risk. Thank you for sharing this very human, loving, and compassionate decision with us. You continue to be wonderful role models. Megan and Nick, health, peace, and safe passage.
Wow. Took me a day to process this. Health is everything. These days even more so. I hope Nick can do some video. Wish Megan well. I want to see this boat cross and hope to see some video.
Sorry that you couldn't complete the delivery.
Very wise decision!. Crossing the Atlantic impaired would not be wise. Rough seas, sickness, new boat, with just the two of you…not a good combo. Mr. O'kelly, good luck on the crossing with an experienced crew with you included. You'll gain a load of experience and feel safe. So, one day you'll acquire a boat you like and sail calm waters when y'all are 100%. Stay safe and well…cheers!
good call. Looing at windy that sorm is a huge mf…
good call O'Kellys !!!!!!!!!!! no worries
Smart move, a lot of pressure to do this but health and safety must come first!
2 Rules we've learned not to break, 1) never sail on a schedule 2) don't sail out of season for the area you are in. You made the right choice! Hope Megan feels better soon and you both are able to join back up with the boat.
I understand a little bit because 1. We're catamaran sailors, 2. We got covid in 2022 and it kicked our butts, and 3. our motto is "Two Yesses Or It's A No". I am so glad you pulled the trigger and made the 'no' vote for Megan because I suspect she's a trooper like I am and doesn't like to admit defeat. We just did our first bluewater overnight sail and we did so well until we broke one of those rules, and we had 12 awful hours of 8 foot seas beating us head on in a 38 foot catamaran. We decided to divert to Key West, and while it made it tougher for our passenger (who wanted to push on), we realized we needed to prioritize ourselves and the Reboot. We learned SO MUCH about being fierce about what we can do as humans vs what the Reboot can do, and what we need to do to make sure we have as much joy as possible onboard. Kudos to @catamaransOutremer who communicated transparently to you what their priorities are, and kudos to y'all for saying, hey, let's make this work for everyone, because I think while it'll be less drama, it will lead to the best possible outcomes for all involved.
As you left France with just a recent negative test, I wondered how you would fare. The rapid test only indicates that you are no longer shedding the virus, that you're no longer contagious – not that you've fully recovered. All viruses can take time to recover from. . .but COVID especially. . . I hope you feel better soon. . . .wise to rest up and get stronger. . . .
1:32 I too am know to be “ cast iron” but have been fighting long Covid fatigue since 2021. This last Tuesday we made the team decision that I should step away from my full time career to focus on reclaiming my health. You’re doing the right thing!
Gotta be human, good call. That's why cruising is not supposed to be driven by time.
You may think the purpose of your videos is entertainment and sharing, na na, it’s about the lessons. Lessons on so many things. Cruising, boat management, marriage, and many many more..
This was the right call for many reasons. Thank you for sharing it with us..
Love your authenticity and good judgement. My husband and I have been watching for years. You have entertained us, educated us (I particularly loved the catamaran vs monohull series) and, inspired us. Last fall we sold our house, bought a (bigger) sailboat and are well on our way from Rhode Island to Bahamas. We are loving it – a dream come true. And you two helped inspire us and prepare us. Thank u for sharing your adventure. Can’t wait to see where you go next. Get well soon Megan ❤.
Sounds like solid decisions to me. Both of us had our Covid avoidance streak ended in October and it took two + weeks out of our lives. And longer to get fully back going. So totally make sure you get over it. Lots of great sailing ahead it seems for sure. Thanks for the update
Heal well. I wound up with Long COVID and had a fever for months. It's now been nearly a year that my watch is whining at me about reduced coronary function. Ya just gotta attend to health first and foremost. Without that, everything else suffers.
NO NEED to apologize !!!
There are a lot of sailing channels but yours is our favorite, and that's not because the sailing content is better, it's because of you two. We adore you both and we'll keep watching and rooting for you!!!
First off, you showed total humility regarding your limitations. That is commendable and shows your ego is under control. Secondly, a saying my father always used to say is “life is too short”!. That is applicable to many things including your decision to make this change for the health of your wife. There will always be another opportunity in the future.
Sorry to hear of the difficulties. It's part of the nomad full-timer life, but it's still hard on those days. I was actually going to comment on previous videos that lately your videos and titles were full of intensity, kind of hyped ! Sounds like you are on your way back to your flow, your journey is a great inspiration in resilience and optimism.
Looks like the boat left Las Palmas today heading south
I kind of knew, something was wrong when watching the last episode. But I didn´t want to say it.
Maybe, or might be better continue to look for your own cat, that you´ve been searching for, for so long. Becuase I have a gut feeling that this isn´t your boat. Miami boatshow isn´t the only show, this boat is going to. Sure you can handle the schedule on short notice?!
And deadlines, like going to places, on schedule isn´t some people ballgame.
But I literatly know, that your getting your own boat, where you can plan and rethink, and go on your own pace, without having deadlines. You´ve wont be on Moonshot for eternity.
So indeed, people make mistakes. But reflect on what you´ve learned from this. While moving on.
Still gonna follow you two. be sure bout that.
/Fair winds.
You fancy seeing southern Spain, come on down. COMPETA in between Malaga and Granada
You two rock – glad everyone's feeling better and looking forward to the next episode
❤ to you both. Megan and Nick. Heart felt 😂 for you two being apart. Good fair winds and following seas.
