Pe măsură ce continuăm spre sud și așteptăm ultimele săptămâni ale sezonului uraganelor, bifăm câteva locuri de muncă pentru a-și păstra forma de navă Happy Days! Schimbăm tenditorul percutorului nostru de pescăruși pentru a finaliza tachelajul în întregime, sau cu alte cuvinte – pentru a le face pe plac asigurătorilor. Apoi există un filtru de combustibil secundar care trebuie schimbat și niște calfăfări în dușuri. Dar am făcut o scurgere! Un inel O pe supapa noastră cu bilă Marelon de 2 inci „reține rezervorul afară” trebuie făcut cu disperare în grabă, deoarece varsă apă în barcă de fiecare dată când este deschisă. Odată ce toate joburile sunt bifate, ne îndreptăm spre o alergare în jurul blocului – Block Island, dar este puțin mai departe decât ne așteptam la început și se transformă într-o aventură plină. Alăturați-vă nouă data viitoare când culegem niște struguri la North Fork, navigăm chiar prin New York și explorăm golful Chesapeake. avem chiar și o sesiune de zmeu obraznică la Fort Monroe. We’ve noticed your storytelling has gotten really good on these last few videos. Is the ~18 month delay in posting intentional or just a matter of priorities?

  10. Non-sailers simply don't realise how much work – both fine tuning jobs and grunt tasks – that go into maintaining good seaworthiness. Everything looks cool and relaxing on most videos, but seeing a crew after scraping a hull at sea and fighting to remove bloody barnacles, or after changing piston rings, puts things in better perspective. You're fortunate in having a great crew, some small enough for bilge or engine compartment work and others with the brawn to use muscle power when needed. I assume your wife is both your life's and ship's Mate. What are your longer term plans as a family?

  17. This video well illustrates the energetic quality of this family: always up for work or play. Seems you've been cruisers long enough now to have a good handle on the neverending boat jobs. But glad to see you got some nice recreational stops in. Just getting the groceries is quite a sport for this crew! I thought at first that Pippi was feeling awful about running over a poor snake… the truth wasn't quite so bad! I hope you're heading back for the tropics, as those environs allow full scope for your explorative drive.

  22. We rebuilt that same valve in Greece. We couldn't get that o-ring though. Joys of fixing boats in exotic places. We love your video editing! Thanks for keeping up the videos!
