💙 Cine suntem? We are working EVERY DAY at the boat, including weekends as we have a deadline to fulfill. And as a lot of cool things are happening every day we thought it would be fun to share our daily progress. So starting today we will be posting every day, one episode a day until…. The end of the month? The splash day? Or until we are too overworked. Whatever comes first 😂 WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL COME FIRST?
you’ll need another manifold for the return line
You should add a second filter along with you new filter and a way to switch between them while the engine is running. Your filter will plug up in nasty situations when you really need the engine running, this never happens in calm flat water. It always happens coming into a harbor or a crowded anchorage. Adding a sensor to a gauge on your instrument will allow you to know when the filter is plugging up, then you just go below, switch to the second filter and go on your merry way.
This is going to be epic. I'm sure you have a punch list it would be nice for us if you'd share it. Countdown to Yaba splashing and to your channel hitting 100K subscribers.
Great job !!
Second @pablostott7609 on the isolation valve! Also, I cant see if the clear fuel lines are reinforced or not but having seen a fair share of what other wise would be a leaks from chafing avoided by braided og reinforced fuel lines. They also reduce leaks if punctured. That said, Im still floored by what the two of you have been able to achieve with Yaba´
Fuel tanks need padding to stop damage, also they need a vent to stop a vacuum build up.
28:10… that sound!!!!
Thanks
Might be helpful to add a rubber strip between the wood and tank
Is that "epoxy tar" in lieu of copper (or tri-axial etc.) to stop worm transiting through the worm show into your main keel? Your stamina in that heat and humidity is amazing and so great to see one of the "original" boat builders back helping again!
Is the fuel gauge on,y checking the one tank though?
20 years in the future what’s holding diesel tanks in place vertical wood pillars horizontal wood beams Lol
Put a flexible rubber or something in between tank and wood so it doesn’t chafe a hole in the tank
Nice job guys,it’s getting exciting
after all the time I have been watching you , your confidence with tools/ wood /fixings has got so much more confidant , it even looks like you are having fun … brillant
Congrats, you have fuel! Might I suggest that you add valves before and after the Racor filter to facilitate a smooth diesel leak free filter changes?
Hi MP, "Left over diesel". You blew it off off when your were corrected, "diesel return". You need to call things by their correct name so when you are trying to explain to somebody else, I.E. a diesel tech what is happening they will understand you. Just a suggestion, learn the proper names for things if you want to be THE diesel girl. 🙂
Your fuel gage will be less than informative, particularly when it starts getting low. It is a perfectly good gage for a square or rectangular tank, or even a cylinder on end – but in a cylinder on its side?
Great video as always question where is the lead carpenter you had in your begging videos, don't remember his name.?
Oh wow an accident waiting to happen. You will have ended up going to fast in my opinion. Good Luck.
See you tomorrow .
Note! The return diesel will have to return to a tank that is not full, that is it needs to go to the tank that is feeding engine. I dont know if you are only using one tank to the engine or are selecting any tank? Anyway work this out or you could over fill a turned off tank. Cheers.
@0:32 Gotta love MP's , ' What ? ' . . . . . YES . . . ' Tune – In ' means adjusting the analog dial with the Knob on the left / right side of your tube – AM receiver to get the station with as little static as possible !
@16:50 Your explanation of the valves to separate the diesel tanks = Great ! You are exercising too much common sense . . . . I may have to watch a different channel to get the ridiculous nonsense I need for entertainment.
take care, rh
Progress Progress Progress!!!😊🎉❤
The best method for securing those tanks would be with stainless steel bands. You could get some 2" wide strips of stainless steel and form them around a wooden circle near the diameter of the tanks.
Bit concerned on those bracings. Have you done any home work on how the tanks quite high up will effect the bouyancey and centre of gravity. Do those tanks have baffles.
There are indents moulded into the tank that you could use to secure it so it won't move.
I can't believe I'm going to see Yaba every day 😍⛵️
Nice goin on the diesel racks Ben. Kool filter MP. Thanks m8s, stay vertical Eh!
Use router to cut large curves. Works well
I hope you have air ventilation for your diesel tanks so that you do not create a vacuum in the tank
