THE FALKEN SAGAS: O aventură epică cu navigarea la 59º nord de-a lungul traseului viking: Terranova la Groenlanda până în Islanda. Bun venit la seria Falken Sagas. Am părăsit Triteia în dana de iarnă a emisferei ei sudice din Whangarei, Noua Zeelandă și am zburat înapoi în America de Nord pentru a mă întâlni cu Andy Schell și 59º North Sailing. Andy mă invitase să mă alătur lui într-o aventură la latitudini mari la bordul lor Farr 65, Falken, pentru a naviga pe Ruta Viking din Newfoundland până în Groenlanda, a traversa Prince Christian Sound și a naviga spre Fiordurile de Vest ale Islandei peste Atlanticul de Nord. Alături de această aventură a fost primul prieten al lui Andy, Vilma, și echipajul Falken; Jim, Matt, Richa, Johnathan, Charlotte, Gavin, Alejandro și Nick. Am realizat mai multe filme de format lung și episoade video care documentează călătoria și aventurile noastre. Începând cu pregătirile în Newfoundland apoi trecerea noastră în Groenlanda, timpul nostru de croazieră în sudul Groenlandei și trecerea noastră în Islanda. Toate filmările cu drone pe care le vedeți în filme au fost filmate de Andy Schell, altfel toate filmările au fost filmate de mine pe o gopro. Despre 59º North: ANDY SCHELL & MIA KARLSSON au început 59º North pentru a-și urmări propria pasiune pentru navigația offshore și pentru a o împărtăși cu alți oameni care au aceleași gânduri care doresc să vadă ce este peste orizont și să învețe despre ei înșiși în acest proces. Ne-am stabilit un program ambițios, navigând 10.000 de mile pe an ajungând la uscat în porturi din Caraibe până în zona arctică, Bermude, Europa, Cuba, Canada și multe altele, cu oceanele lumii drept teren de pistă. Din 2015, echipa noastră a crescut pentru a include unii dintre cei mai buni prieteni ai noștri și marinari care au aceleași gânduri – AUGUST SANDBERG, EMMA GARSCHAGEN, RYAN FINSTAD, LEE CUMBERLAND și RYAN ELLISON – toți lucrând împreună pentru a ne urmări pasiunile. În 2020 am început THE QUARTERDECK, o platformă de abonament online unică pentru navigație, unde ne aprofundăm în arta navigației. You referenced icebergs to be seen but didn't let us see what you claim to have seen. The views we saw later in the video showed no icebergs, stranded or other wise. You referenced 2 cruise ships visiting, what was their purpose? how did they leave just footprints? You showed someone swinging around a pole saying "just youths like we all have been". But it is known that youths living where you were exhibit high suicide rates. They were not having fun. They only had that to distract themselves. You see in your video trucks, other vehicles why have the indigenous opted for these instead of traditional, sustainable means of transport. Man is just invading and destroying the places you portray as exceptional. Put a bit more of that in your videos instead of just exploiting and consuming further places and as witness to man's destruction.
So how many Yacht clubs have you been in since joining the 59 north? Love the scenery except the cruise ships hope your having a great time

When I think of how many haven't or never will see an iceberg in the wild, I think of how many people have never seen the ocean, a mountain (range), snow, northern lights, or even the night sky away from light pollution filled with clouds of stars. If I had the funds, I would like to at least take people to see the stars just to watch their faces.
Vids like yours James, remind us of the profound beauty Mother Nature has gifted us.
