It looks a nice life and of course it is a nice life. I'm a little envious , we'll actually I am envious. Good luck on your travels.
💚💚😎🙏👍🐟🌴⛵🍍
Nice sail. Never got sick once. STAY SAFE AND HAVE FUN !
Very nice video. Autopilot – as long as your electronic/hydraulic system does not account for wind direction changes and waves, you need a windvane system. That keeps your boat on course relative to wind and your sail adjustments. If your electronic/hydraulic system only does waypoint, then you still need the windvane as primary AP, not backup. In a smaller boat, the electronically controlled system can be noisy and the windvane system is not. Hydrovane is the best. These are expensive and you might be able to lay your hand on a used one, and with that even work with the company (other Ytoobers have done so).
If you want to make a great passage across the Pacific, AP is the third helmsman but you really may want a real human for journeys of 4 to 6 weeks of solitude.
Do you guys have windscreens for your mics? If not I would def recommend one, seems very windy in colombia (Sorry just a pet peeve of mine, otherwise a beautiful video)
Beautiful video guys, production and the feel of your videos gets better every week. I bet your parents and friends are very proud of you and enjoy these wonderful snippets and views into your life afloat. Andy UK
Overall very nice sail to the Sand Blas. I guess the weather was not as rough as you 1st expected. You saw dolphins cool that was. Caught a Mahi really good eating fish. Luckily AP gave you a pleasant ride. Like you said it's 30 + years old so maybe change to new one give the old one a little TLC use it as a spare.
Enjoy yourselves in the Bahamas and for sure you'll be meeting up with a while bunch of other You Tubers sailing the dream you are. Looking forward to next video cheers
Great video! 😊 and nice with the double Mahi catch, heard that they mate for life and if you catch one you’ll probably be able to catch a second, nothing we have experienced yet tho🐠 enjoy San Blas! Those islands really look like paradise 🏝️
Noiceee🤙🤙😃
❤❤🥰🥰
I think it would be a good idea to invest in some large sunglasses as you are out in the air so often.
OMG that opening sequence HAHA!
Great adventure. A question. Are you ever worried about pirates in the area you are at? or are they non existent there? Cheers. Stay safe.
Around the 6 minute mark, you can really see the size of the waves. Most times it does not translate well to camera, but those dips between swells are very noticeable. Great fun and great job you two. I am envious beyond measure.
Great episode and wonder full destination. There's a lot to admire in both of you. Highest Blessings
Another great video.
Thanks! Brill as always, beautiful sights and views sailing, I love the changes in colour and sea states. Safe travels both!🙏
In our part of a world (mediteranian) we call that fish LAMPUGA, how do you call it? Allso how long did it take to die and losse it's collor, Her in mediteranian they die in less then 5 min and it is diferent time in every side of the world. And I would like to make some comperesan. Thank you for answering if you'll have the time ofcourse.
Well I'm new to the channel. Been going back and trying to catch up on old videos. I had no idea how complicated you to are. Very good job at conquering life. You to well be able do anything you set your mind to. Your video and editing is awesome . And a big boat ,will work you a little bit harder. But you do have everything you need in life for survival. A few gray hairs may set in sooner though,;-).. just kidding?.! As long as you're sailing you will stay young forever!
It’s probably not the autopilot, more likely the way the boat is balanced…
I noticed you have an anchor swivel like mine (Lewmar?) and a similar "delta" style anchor, connected with a "D" shackle. Are you happy with that setup? I have a "bow" shackle now, but it doesn't go through my anchor roller very well so i've been looking something narrower and found some "D" shackles that might work (specifically one that has a flush allen head pin). BTW: Love your vlog!
Followed Teulu through the canal today on AIS. Congratulations!
Amazing achievment by you guys considering its only a year since you bought your boat and started sailing ,having followed you from the start and watching your progress has been a pleasure well done !!
Beautiful sail. Thank you both for sharing.
the welshman do not slap girls around but the fish do,,
Hi guys, I've been following your weekly videos for several months now. How far behind real time, in other words when did you arrive at the San Blas Islands?
You guys are brilliant, another must watch episode thank you so much ⛵️⛵️👍👍
Becka had me getting a touch emotional as she experienced arriving – of course, I didn't let anyone see me…. Wonderful work you two! You are becoming "seasoned"….
You're doing a great job … and your figures prove it. My prediction looks like it may come true sooner then I thought. (Top spot on YouTube) You read it here first!! … Stay Safe & Fair Winds!! ☘
Beautiful episode! Loved the scenery! Thank you for sharing.
Brilliant episode. Onward to the San Blas! Che❤ers
Always nice to see a new video from you guys. Thank you!
Well done both 👏👏👏 been following you from the start and the quality of your productions get better and better 👍, loved the Colombian paradise stop last week, mixing sailing and shore content beautifully. Keep it up 👍 your bloody doing it!
Love this! Can't wait to be back on the ocean myself 🥰
Love you guys!
I was so afraid at first that you would give up, but now it is obvious that you never will. 😀
Got nothing to say since I never made it to the Caribbean, but why is sailing near Venezuela so dangerous?
Panama is nice.
Congrats on your passage through the Panama Canal. You are now in another hemisphere. Saw you on the canal web cam but you were partly obscured by the other yachts
😎
I love the slow motion of the sea state, helps do justice to the waves that get so reduced in photos or videos. Brilliant job you two!
What a great video. When I think back to you leaving the UK and relate that to now, the change is remarkable. your video skills and story telling has improved so much. The biggest change is in your confidence in passage planning, understanding the weather and just generally not being spooked by the environment that you find yourself in. You are an amazing couple and I look forward to your videos each week. Cant wait to see your next adventures.
To protect your anchor swivel from failing due to side torque it is recommended to put six inches of chain between your swivel and the anchor using a shackle with a wired off pin. Cheers👍
Welcome to Pancho!💜🤟
Just discovered your channel and really enjoying your videos. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Very nice video. Ketch. Two masts. You seem to always sail on the front mast, never the rear one. That may be my perception, but it seems the biggest thing "in the way" between you and the rear mast is the bimini. Also, it may be a matter of experience. But, the wisest of sailors teach that you should not sail your boat above 80% (of what it was designed and built for, and probably your own seaworthiness too). I would think that a reef to the mainsail (reduces the levered force impact of wind) that reduces sail area can be compensated by the rear sail that is less tall. Yes, it will impact the "feel" of the boat because the wind force shifts a bit aft to between the two masts.
And, have you tried to use the rear sail as wind rudder when at anchor? If the waves at the anchor location are in line with the wind, that helps a lot.
No need to answer here, but would be a nice topic in a future video.
I just saw this video on Google's website. I read it every day and today you guys are on it. They have different articles on everything. So it should give you more exposure and grow your channel. Just thought you should know. Ed
Excellent. Pulling into a beautiful anchorage with fresh mahi fillets. That's hard to beat.
Wondering if you trust Navionics or the charts for depth, etc? Great to hear you are opting for a new AP before crossing the Pacific.
LOL. Somoehow I doubt the boy on the dock spoke French.
