  1. It's nice but it still looks too much the part of a boat bought with the retirement golden handshake of a person who spend too many of his best years in boardrooms meetings drinking coffee.

  2. "Plenty to hold on to" – shows a vast, empty space devoid of anything. Jokes aside (and slippery foredeck), this is my favorite HR yet

  3. They are certainly boats of a high level of construction, equipment and safety at sea, but I must also say that they are more or less all the same, whether it is the 40' or 69' they look like the same boat in scale, and the layout looks like a sailboat of the 80s and 90s. Perhaps Mr. Magnuss should diversify the lines a little. Obviously it's my opinion, but I don't think I'm alone.

  4. Great boat great review but damn it looks so cold my freezer doesn't look that cold ,Thank god that i live in Australia ,That kitchen needs to be bigger for more pots and pans space with a walk in pantry for more starage for foods and have all the fridges in there making up space for bread makers & storage,A thought through well designed kitchen is a must all he did was copy and paste the old kitchens ,Is it nice yes but could be better is all i'm saying,The kitchen is the wow factor of a boat in my eyes !!

  5. Thanks so much for this video. I love HR boats. We'll just assume there is great insulation on that boat to not be dripping with condensation and being freezing cold. Lots of detail you have to assume. It will be amusing to watch people rant about how HR missed this or that – aren't innovating – blah blah blah. They sell everything they can build. That's what success is.

  6. Thnx Toby. Amasing boat.
You looked shit outside in the cold but I wasn’t sorry assuming you get payed to spend the three days on this mini superyacht 😉
    Cheers, Harry

  7. After my rather impulsive comment at the moment I found this video and after watching, I'd like to say I really like your take on these topics. And being partial towards this brand I was awaiting your input since I learned you were reviewing this particular yacht. So, concerning a few aspects of this interesting vessel. I've reinforced the idea that the hardtop is, for me personally, a must on an Hallberg-Rassy. Not only it confers a seaworthy look, it sits beautifully on her and it brings undeniable advantages on safety and comfort. I really liked the notion of having a permanent man on watch at the mast, particularly one with such keen eyesight. And the speed numbers, impressive. As for the rest, the quality, the comfort, the overall aesthetic I really have nothing to add, those speak for themselves. Thank you very much for this excellent review.
    Cheers.

  8. They know what a boat should be like after half a a century. A very complex boat with many systems. Very few can afford it, a dream for most people.

  9. 5 Million EURO? You are kidding me, right? The pricetag, for all serious considerations, makes it irrelevant for all purposes. People dare to complain about the Neel quality, but that pricetag is for instance the same as FIVE brand new Neel 52, that offers the same amount of space and sailing performance easily. Even if you want uber luxury, why not save two million Euro and buy the 62 feet McConaghy catamaran, a full carbon build uber luxury performance catamaran, that for sure will double all performance figures of this one and still offers vastly more space? Or, why not save three million and buy the Amel 60, that in many ways are the better boat, for instance with hard rails all around, multiple crash safe zones throughout the boat and protected helm position. You also for that pricetag, around two million Euro, could either buy the top spech Garcia monohul or the Garcia 50 Exploration catamaran, in either case getting highend marine grade aluminium hulls and full capabilities of going serious exploration yachting. Nice boat this one, but the pricetag makes it irrelevant to even consider. Another thing, and your winter sailing here in Scandinavia, in an unusual cold winter for the southern parts of Scandinavia too, really highlights that: Why do these highend builders not offer, what Amel has done for decades, for instance; a fully protected helm position. If I should design a monohul sailboat fit for real cruising, I would copy the Sirius yacht verohelm position at the aft section of the boat, which offer standing helming position in the middle, but can swing out to a seated helm position to either side of the boat, and then I would use that second helm option on a fully protected covered cockpit Amel style or even in a raised deck saloon, actually much like several highend exploration yachts from the Netherlands, see for instance Alluring Arctic Sailing. You know, it may be nice to brave the harsh condition and steer a boat like that from the fully open, when you are a recreational sailor, or if you are a well off owner, who got a crew to take over, when the conditions are not fun anymore, but the fact is, that most cruisers in really hard conditions end up sailing the boat by autopilot from the indoors in those harsh condition most times, when they do not have a protected helm position.

  10. Why do they use plastic ventilation hoods on deck?. – Bathareas are traditionally lovelessly designed too at Hallberg Rassy, a lot of white plastic as well. I do not understand that on a yacht like that.

  11. There has been no independent promotion/review of boats for a long time, the manufacturer gives money and launches them as they wish.
They can't make even the slightest realistic criticism, they can't really tell the pros and cons, they present it as if it has merits that it doesn't have.
Sorry guys, the sailing community is not stupid.

  12. Those vast expanses of open deck look great, but when you're going forward what the hell are you hanging on to? Sure, you have the jackstays shipped and you're clipped on, but when it's blowing 30 knots and you need to go forward for some reason that's a lot of open space to negotiate with nothing to grab other than the lifelines…
