„Come Sail Away” de Styx - Reacție și analiză a antrenorului vocal feat. Vocea lui Dennis DeYoung

Mereu mi-a plăcut această melodie, dar cred că am luat de la sine înțeles cât de bună este. Astăzi vorbim despre vocea genială a lui Dennis DeYoung din „Come Sail Away”. 1. Dennis is an amazing singer and showman. Check out his solo work like Desert Moon. Also he does the album version of Come Sail Away which is longer and better

  2. Styx were particularly strong and vocalists. Dennis DeYoung and Tommy Shaw have powerful voices, while J.Y. could belt out with pure rock pipes. I guess the only thing that messed with the band was that DeYoung had different ambitions from the others; he seems to want to do musical theatre, which may not serve an arena rock band well. And of course, this lead to the disastrous Killroy was Here Tour/Musical Theatre Event.

  3. Saw him a couple of years back and although he's well into his 70s, he hasnt lost a thing. Still an incredible singer.

  4. You should analyze the song "Can't Stop Me Lovin You" by Steelheart (Original Music Video). This guys vocal range is insane and his voice is too good to be true in my opinion. Like this comment if you agree!

  5. To me, in all things Styx, Tommy Shaw is the man. Blue Collar Man (Long Nights) does not stop amazing me. Since it came out, I might add. What a voice.

  6. I always pick up on the way he says 'gold' near 8:03. It seems he adds something to just the 'L' sound. I get the impression singers today don't go though nearly the training they did back then. They just show up and let the computer fix it. Back then it seemed they trained and trained, practiced and practiced until it was perfect, even a cappella.

  7. If you love this song, you have to see the live version. I don't know the link to the one I'm referring to, but The Charismatic Voice reacted to it about a month or 2 ago, so you can get it from her site. I love her reactions too. She IS very charismatic, just like you. (very pretty too, like you also) Btw, "Castle Walls" is my favorite song by Styx. "Queen of Spades" is great too. Dennis DeYoung is in my top 10 rock vocalists. Paul Roders of Bad Company is in there too. For a great example of HIS vocal prowess, do "Master of Ceremonies". He sings kind of strangely in that one. You'll see what I mean if you react to it.
