  1. Aladino I’ve been watching you for so long now and I had to laugh when you said you were taking some shortcuts when you are sanding. Your shortcuts are anyone else’s long jobs. I love how magic carpet 2 is looking now 😊

  2. I think this refit reflects the artists who are doing it. Each area of the boat is designed beautifully, and when Aladino says not pickiest is most everyone else's perfect and as to heavy doesn't everyone love heavy bottom girl❤

  3. Most excellent graceful curves to those comings. I'm pretty sure you will want a couple additional scuppers at some point. Will there be/is there a handrail in the overhead? Just seemed a good idea to me, an admittedly armchair sailor.

  4. Hello, I just found out about Sailing Magic Carpet from a patron. You do make very high quality videos with lovely musical accompaniment. We own a Bristol Channel Cutter 28, in fact the one that you showed the bronze number plate of on the Cape George boatyard video! I saw the plate, and asked my wife "Aren't we number 96?" The corrosion looks familiar, just like ours! Such a small world. We plan on repainting our mast this spring. The Epifanes roll on paint looks really good and our yard owner recommended we use it. Prep is everything.

  5. Wise to wait on an after scupper. The four forward ones will do their job well, and chances are that something important wash by and it will have to wash past you again to find it's way overboard!

  6. after watching from the begining i can say, Alidino i would absolutley trust you to do work on my boat ,and Maya your wood finishing skills are top notch

  7. Magnificent piano playing in the background. Who is that? Almost like Brad Mehldau. Next to the boat building nerds, we music nerds also get their share in your video’s 😂 great episode again lovely people!

  8. You might already have varnished the hand rails by now, but if you haven’t I suggest you oil them. Not only is it easier, but it would offer better grip, feel great to handle and I think the contrast would look great against the shiny trim.

  9. It's been a long time since we've seen Maya play her violin. I always enjoy her playing a tune as Aladino finishes up a project at the end of a video.

  10. I have a question regarding the winch bases – Since they are basically a bridge between the bulwarks (foam) and the coaming (wood) the portion of the forward thrust to the boat that is delivered by the jib sheets is applied to those items only. Are the bulwarks and coaming attached to the deck adequately to safely transfer that force under all conditions? Your craftsmanship and patience with odious tasks like sanding for days on end never cease to amaze me!

  11. My 40 year old 40 year old Spencer had the original paint on it so when I painted I moved the waterline up 6" to paint the bottom, them moved it back down 4" so I was 2" above the original waterline. When I launched the boat the water was right at the waterline. I should have left it 6" higher. Ya, my boat's heavier than it originally was. It's no problem having a high waterline, but a too low and you're always scrubbing off algae 🙁

  12. It looks great and light. Anybody wants to whine about weights they can do so after you’ve loaded four years of supplies onto the boat and nothing is ever left.

  13. aladino where the timbers curve to the boat edges water pooling my concern as back sits lower in the water tell him thay maya just want perfect

  14. I would have prefinished the grab rails , i don't understand the problem . Generally prefinish , install and then touch up that would be easier and i think a better job . But the boat looks great you're doing fine job so go magic carpet !
