1. Please put water lift muffler back to structural strength, it is a low pressure vessel. Exhaust pressure at inlet pushes water and exhaust out, if it breaks you will unknowingly sink boat.

  2. This concerns your muffler you must weld it back you must remove all the fiberglass totally all of it it cannot handle heat if you put it together just by fiberglassing it it will melt and come apart do not do that you will lose your boat immediately big fire in the middle of the ocean

  3. I think you made a wise decision on the anchor choice for now, But you know when its bad and you dont have a good one, your hit, It can be good and all and having a bad anchor can make it go bad quick. Anchoring in a cove for storm protection etc. I would upgrade later and figure out whats best for that boat, weight and windless,. You guys are Awesome, much love..

  4. Anchor? One of each. You never know where you will endup dropping anchor and for how long. Dont punt a heavy anchor on the stern. You don’t want to sink the boat again. Do keep a small one for your dinghi.Just in case.

  5. is there an upgrade muffler system for your boat that is that you're using is original from when that boat was made and it was barely adequate from what I can see and I would put in a stainless steel with none of that fiberglass anywhere near it because if you ever lost a fan belt and didn't know it and you caught that thing on fire that's how it happenes much love to you

  6. You might consider a Pool type balanced anchor. The flukes are weighted such that they remain vertical when the anchor is raised. It's intended to make stowing against the hull simpler. I believe the minimum size is 50Kg.

  7. The Mexican anchor is a homemade version of a North hill anchor..just about all shrimp boats in the USA use them..flukes (spades) are set between 40 to 45 degrees angles..yours seem about 70 not sure how good of holding power that would be..

  8. I have enjoyed your channel since the beginning. I look forward to the launch of Yaba. I would love to see all the tradesmen that have worked on the boat be involved in the launch ceremony

  9. I'd keep the heaviest 2 anchors , but a spare anchor is always nice to have.
Utilize what you have and test it all out . then adjust accordingly. don't spend the cheese $$ if you don't have to.
I am so looking forward to you sailing in that beautiful sail boat.
    you 2 rock" : )

  10. Hi in the advent of no power the short handle on anchor winch find a 6 ft pipe to go over the handle giving who ever needs to use winch a much easyer pull stroke not being bent over winch

  11. How do you plan to secure the anchor in place so it doesn’t ruin the bow in heavy weather? Not so sure what you have, it won’t pop out of the track. Otherwise, great 5o see the progress you re making.

  12. Bruce is a great anchor…and take the Mexican for stern anchor and keep it at the stern. Bruce held in a cyclone on my boat. Its the weight of chain that provides the holding power. You need a metal shield fastened to protect boat from anchor. They're normal in Canada.

  13. I'd have to say the Bruce is the most practical and work well for you , I'd keep that stainless steel yachtsman anchor just to hang it on the bow a real character piece . Ahoy

  14. Another good job all – special shoutout to Zeca: always good to see him.
Mainly this is a note is for Louique. I've happily watched you work on Yabe and see 2 things: you have skills and are an adventurer … etc
Carry on with your adventures and be safe. Perhaps also consider returning to Yaba, say for her launch or later, so you may see her in the water.
    Cheers from Vancouver

  15. Whilst the Bruce anchor was pretty good in its day the are far better anchors available today. eg the Rochna for example.
Even more important is lots of heavy anchor chain. A minimum of 50 metres x 12mm dia plus a similar length of 100mm dia braided nylon rope.
Yaba is a very heavy boat with lots of windage. Do not economise on your anchors and carry a minimum of 3.

  16. You are guys lucky!!!! You have got different Ankers for different bottom. Rock bottom is where you can hook and loose your anker. It's cheapest anker. Bruce anker is for sandy bottom. When your boat is dragged by gale it would digg deeper and deeper in a sand. Anker with welded ends is for coral bottom. Remember!!!! Never anker deeper than 10 m deep. You would loose your any anker. Always every time check your anker fixing mechanism. Every time you throwing it out of bort!

  17. I would highly recommend the Bruce with a break away set up. It will save the anchor by breaking away and coming out backwards. Simple to set up with a D-ring shackle to connect the chain to the bottom of the anchor then wrapping stainless steel lock wire to the end of the anchor to hold it firmly with some play in the anchor chain. Now if your anchor gets stuck you can back down on it opposite of the direction and break the wire free causing the anchor to flip over. You can search break away ancho set up. Hope this helps. 👌

  18. Keep the kedge anchor, remove the cross piece so it can be stowed flat as an emergency anchor or for secondary use to stream astern for lying in a tidal channel
