  1. Well done, extremely interesting. Unfortunately there are d-bags in every industry that we all have had to deal with at one time or another.

  2. If you study history of British or Dutch East India / West Indies Companies, you would face tons of such "marine-" narratives, that made hundreds of loyal captains and officers, becoming outlawed or fugitive if not executed. ☠ So now you're an experienced seaman 🦜🌴

  3. This entire episode was fantastic. I especially enjoyed your personal experiences onboard super yachts . I would love to hear more about them . I’ve been following your channel for a little over a year now. This video while different I found to be really engaging. Can you please do more like this in the future? Until recently I didn’t know just how much it meant to you for your viewers to leave a comment. From now on I’ll leave a ❤️ in the comments to help out your channel. Thank you very much for your efforts. I’m interested in knowing exactly what you do in your capacity on super yachts today? Thank you very much for your hard work!❤️

  4. THANKS ESYSMAN🤗 FOR YOUR EXPERIENCES,AND THE INSIDE STORIES OF YOUR WORLD 🌍,HOPEFULLY THEY ARE ALL IN THE PAST 🤗,ENJOY YOUR TIME IN THIS BEAUTIFUL 🤩 LOCATION,AND BTW …I LOVE YOUR ORANGE SHIRT …IT LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THE PRISON OUTFITS 😬💚💚💚

  5. Very interesting episode, this is not something most of us are aware of. If this guy has blacklisted you then maybe some owners should consider not using his company. Your excellent reputation precedes you.

  6. It's a great video, very personal as well. Well done. I've been following you for a while now and this is a very refreshing change. Idea for future podcast might be an hour interview with an other well experienced insider?

  7. These podacast/videos are great. Please keep them going if your schedule permits. Don't worry about the orange polo there's a British Malaysian comedian, Nigel Ng,who has an alter ego, Uncle Roger who wears a orange polo also.

  8. You know, demanding power sockets be moved, furniture replaced, new decor installed. All those reasonable things that charter guests do when they charter a yacht. I remember working on charters and the primary requested we removed a power outlet, run wires through coduit amd walls and relocate it just for them. Yeah. Like all the time. I worked on a Benetti that was worth about 12 million and we just hacked that master suite all to pieces moving power outlets for charter guests. Moving the TV's. Sometimes we just chucked all the furniture out into the ocean and brought new stuff on. Sure.😅

  9. I worked on fishINg charters before I went into yachting and that was a totally different world. But the people that chartered the fishing yachs were well known within that industry. Occasionally they overlapped into regular yachting, but it was usually a very secular world. I remember Tristan talking about how he would get mad at contractors for trying to take advantage of his boss when certain things had to be done and I worked for a captain that was like that as well. He would take it as a personal insult. He wrote out birthday cards to them and their family, sent graduation gifts, little trinkets he knew their wives or kids liked. He had a network. But if you tried screwing him over, he was done with you. He was Irish and he used to,joke that the Italians learmed how to be good mobsters from watching the Irish do it. But it worked.

  10. I ran a division of a company in the S.E. U.S. for 30 years. By proving myself to always advocating for the owner I earned the benefit of not being micromanaged by the middle management. The owner was able to spend his time elsewhere and I had freedom some of my peers did not. Always recognize it is their money at risk and your responsibility to watch out for it. Love your channels.

  11. Always enjoyed your channel since Feb 2022, watched this on YouTube on a snowy evening in England, very relaxing, enjoy Peru.

  12. If you laugh at that word, Google the Lord and Lady Douchebag sketch from Saturday Night Live in the 1970 for a good laugh.

  13. For years I was part of the IBNA…

Living and working on several large yachts. As crew….
I was a chef my opinion counted for very little. Actions like you mentioned happen far to often. Thanks for the video.

  14. Way too long to get to a point. It just loses your interest long before saying anything concrete.
Maybe it should just be 10 minutes? Maybe some diagrams would help?

  15. 9:45 When you write a legal court document/argument, you provide ALL your arguments in one document. You don't say "I didn't buy it" and then wait for them to say "yes you did" and then argue that it wasn't illegal then – you show everything at once. "I didn't buy it and even if I did it was legal" in one document otherwise everything would take forever.

  16. Are you still yachting at sea? You appear to be spending all or most of your time on land.

Despite its chequered and slightly sad history, you do have to admit that Amadeus is a good looking yacht.

  17. Thanks for a very interesting podcast. A lot of what you talk about happens in all job disciplines to some degree. One just has to learn the hills they want to fight & die on & learn to walk away from the others that have little consequences. Experience is a great teacher.👍🇨🇦🙏

  18. Its sad, pathetic actually, that people think they are sooo important (the Capt, hiring guy etc), that they'll take the opinion of some d-bag (guy from the management company) without talking with or researching the credibility, experience, and ethics of a potential new hire. I'm so glad to be self employed. I quit playing that 'dog and pony show' bs when I got out of the Army. Lifes too short for those bs games. Great vid, thanks for sharing!

  19. I can tell you've worked for a fair few unpleasant owners, the industry has plenty, you have to love travelling and yachts to put up with crazy working hours and have a cabin the size of a shoe box, anyway the video was good to listen to, personal experiences are always interesting
