  1. Great work fellas.

Bugger about the thread on the bayonet fitting.

Maybe consider adding a couple sets of thread gauges to your kit and a Zeuss book, that's not a Dr Zeuss book by the the way😂.

I agree Adam diesel stinks diesel exhaust even worse 🤫🤢

  2. Adam, Luke You didn't bottle it by not going into the river. As a fellow sailor what you did was excellent seamanship. The safety of your vessel and much more important your lives, is far more important than any bravado or risk taking. Better to be safe than sorry, you guys are excellent sailors and are doing an amazing job of keeping yourselves and Atlas safe. Well done!

  3. Older DV20s had a fine filter in the lift pump which can clog up and cause these type of problems. Bukh UK advised me to take it out and throw it away. I didn't as knowing it was there and easily cleaned left me with confidence that crap shouldn't get passed to cause other problems in the old engine fuel system. Enjjoy your tavels. Whitianga ws the last stop on our last trip to visit our son & his wife in 2020. Unfortunately we got one of the last Emirates flights back to Dubai then the next to last one into Glasgow just as the UK shut down.

  4. Good morning-the issue of diesel contamination is always present.
I think you should have connected the fuel line to the drain plug fitting. In doing so you are taking the fuel from the lowest point in the tank and filtering any contamination out and not giving the bug an opportunity to grow in the bottom portion of the tank in fuel that never gets filtered. By taking from the lowest point you are dealing with any contamination before it can develop into a much bigger issue!Because fuel tanks have a breather connected to them there’s always an opportunity of moist air entering the tank, condensing and ending up on the bottom of the fuel ( the fuel will always float on top) and then the bug grows. Also don’t be afraid of increasing the dosage of bug inhibitor ! Cheers Peter!
P.S. I have been following you for years now and really enjoy your videos.

  5. Nice to see a mid-week video as a follow up. How do you manage not to get fat on the food you eat? Must be a secret? Would love to be on your diet. Could there be a Sailing Brothers Cook Book in the making ?

  6. I figured that was the problem. I had to do the same thing! At least you have the problem solved! Good for you! Until the next problem arrives! Lol
This is the life on a boat….find problems and fix them! Keep heading south! Stay safe from the east coast of Canada 🇨🇦

  7. SAILING "Fixing boats in glamorous locations". 😂 well done lads, you work great as a team and wise move not attempting the river mouth. Sign me up for the cheese drug trials 😂😂. Fair winds lads

  8. Guys, next time you get the opportunity, buy yourselves a 'Thread gauge'. You won't need to guess at thread sizes any more. They're a couple of quid. Great video, and glad to see you've both enjoying your bluewater travels. Fair winds!

  9. Get yourself some Marine 16 diesel bug treatment, it's brilliant and worth every penny, you can find it in NZ too. You might also consider putting a diesel treatment in your tank on each refill, something like Starbrite Star Tron Diesel Additive. Never had the bug or any issues in 10 years, touch wood!

Looking forward to catching up in the north of NZ at the end of the season, or Fiji.

Youtubers – if you haven't subscribed already do it NOW, these 2 are the nicest guys out there of all the sailing channels!
