That hard chine boat is a comfortable one.Best wishes 🙂
So what was the cause of the vibration?
Love 5he video and the words. So true. I want to share something with you both. Today I listened to a Navajo elder. His words were strong and true about negative thoughts. To say them is like praying to the evil one. He feeds on it …
🤠👍
Ruth, I wait for your solo voice to tell enduring truths. Then you two join in a duo pushing her on to the next shore. It's a weekly treat.
… she's awesome, nobody can build your dream!
awesome, very poetic Ruth
I hope you cross paths with Supernova !
Greetings from ChCh, NZ …. Wonderful to see just how well 'She' handles the Seas …. I have mentioned before about a 'Regen Alternator' on the Propshaft…. Wiill have 2 Functions, ….. Slow down the 'Noisey' Propshaft while getting some 'Free Power'….. Might also act as a bit of a 'Sea Anchor' at the Rear and hold her in line even better than doing at present…. Enjoy the sail and Thanks so much for your Great Vidclips, with Wonderful Narration by Ruth …. Keep well and Stay safe …. Cheers to ALL
Hold fast and carry on! I hope I run into you two to say howdy and buy ya' a beer. Currently in Barra.
Happy Trails,
Dave
I love your thoughts along with the videography ❤❤❤❤
That boat is rad!
Watching your stove puts everything in perspective.
Wow!!! What you said,,,,,That is about as real of an explanation of Life and Happiness as I've ever heard.
Ruth!!!!! AWSOME!
Best video so far! And there have been so many wonderful stories told in each video.
I would tie off the shaft so it won't spin. Ya some drag, but if its got an issue tie it down. Better than floppin it around. I could never go below deck under way. I have to be at station at all times. No I do not travel long distance. I have been almost run over many times with other boats on auto pilot and no one on watch.
11:58 mellow afternoon sale, but in the background you look at the stove and it’s rocking 2” to 4” each way at times 😊😊
ON ON !!
👍
Hi guys, I always wonder why do you call yourselves salt and tar ??? she’s a bit rock ‘n’ roll out there but the boat will handle it. Keep up the good work. Love the videos Cliff from Logan City, Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺
Trust those instincts. Fairing well in mixed seas and varying gusts. Smart decisions to lower the main. Fair winds.
Beautiful video as always. Your narration is great Ruth. To both of you – please wear PFDs out there. Lanyards and jacklines too. I don’t ever want to hear of one of you lost overboard.
Pretty deep closing monolog there Ruth. Thanks for bringing us along.
If you prop shaft is vibrating out it in reverse gear with engine off to stop it from spinning. You guys should get s feathering prop.
The simrad needs a repeater below for safety.
That was very nice ruth
😎
I just love hanging out with you every week and I cant believe you built this boat to sail this true your first time totally awesome I'm glad you're having a safe and wonderful trip see you next week
That was … Amazing. Beautiful.
Around the 11:40 time mark, while you were talking about how smooth and quite it it in your cabin, we could see the stove rolling from side to side in the background.
It's like watching a gyro compass. Despite its wild pitching you know that it is the one that is really stable.
Glad you are heading south and easily sliding though the soup, cheers.
True words Ruth thank you.
Now you guys are out in the real stuff please tell us what works well and what you would like to change. Brilliant episode – thanks for sharing.
While you were just in the nick of time of it all; I hope you had enough ease to catch a long glimpse of that nautical sky. I seem to remember in somebody's yootoob boat; a crewal-work embroidery that said "Don't Do Nothing" .
Great video guys, and awesome narration and story Ruth!
Gosh dang just preach those words of truth you go girl
A channel with real sailors. Thank you!
Just love hearing you read us your story. It melodic when backed by those wonderful images. Pure poetry! Thank you.
it could be good therpy talking out your story, do you miss soical interation with other people ?
Nice bit of philosophy at the end !
First Mate, such beautiful words, thank you!
when the sea get ruff, the tough get going.
Totally understand the exhaustion of heavy seas. Back in 1993, while in the US Coast Guard stationed abord a US Coast Guard Cutter. We spent 3 days in 50+ foot seas in the Bering Sea, the cooks couldn't even cook (cold cuts get old after 3 days) and walking down the main passageway, you would go from one bulkhead to the other in the rocking, it was absolutely exhausting.👍
Your narration is polished… goodonyas!
I really love and look forward to each episode and Ruth your narration and editing skills just keep getting better and better. What a great adventure you are on. I do get a little apprehensive though when you are changing sails in rough weather with no safety harnesses. i really do worry about you two because you are family to me now. Please don’t take my concern as anything other than a father’s love for his children. Great job as usual though.
It's time to build a new boat… Redaviva is a heavy sloggish tank that is too small to live in. Check out the RAN sailing boat building of a new boat in sweeden that will be a real boat with a much better design.
How much concrete did you guys put in the bottom of her to make her sail so nice?
Brilliant episode. Well done Ruth, great narration.
Well said.
Do you ever wear life jackets? One slip taking the main and he could have been overboard.
