  1. With this crazy climate we are experiencing, I think you should tie the boat to the ground. A strong thunderstorm can lift up the boat and make it fall on its side. It sadly happened to my dad with a boat longer and heavier than yours (7.2 tons for 11.4m)

  2. Count your fingers before you use the saw. Then when you are done count them again and see if it’s the same number. Just saying 🙈

  3. Hi guys. I’ll let you get away with it because you’re American but can you please start talking in millimetres and metres. Centimetres are reserved for clothing and upholstery. Oh and ikea but we will leave that one. Just trying to keep you cool in all the places that speak decimal. 😂 enjoy the track saw. Perfect tool for custom cabinets.

  4. As a privileged Haitian I'm not surprised that you don't try to help the cause. You have the tools to make an impact on social media media and formats to make humans aware of the turmoil that is literally destroying your homeland. I hope you realize this is your opportunity to break free of your comfort level and do something worthy for your people. A Communist Canadian and a Jaden Haitian is a perfect storm for selfishness and ignorance. I feel sorry for the lack of awareness and denial you have together as a couple.

  5. Did a village stay in Fiji some time ago. They were build a concrete footpath which when laid out was definitely not consistent slope. I suggested the clear hose level to them, which they used.

  6. I used a water level years ago when I fitted a suspended ceiling in my first house. This was way before lazer levels or any digital equipment.
The ceiling was on three different levels and would have meant taking loads of measurements and hoping for the best.
The simple length of hose made it very easy and accurate in no time and the result was perfect 👍🏼

  7. This is going to be really interesting! By the way, did the Romans have any small, clear plastic tubing?

I wanted to make a suggestion. In 5 years, when you get the boat back in the water, and before you leave the Med, I would like to see you visit Barcelona and give a two architect opinion on a tour of the Sagrada Familia Basilica and its design. Maybe you even studied it in college. It's pretty unique and looks pretty 'gaudi'. After 142 years, it should be finished by then!

I, too, pray that Kika's family and friends are OK in Haiti.

  8. Love watching you guys. You are both very talented and I admire your work ethic. The container idea is absolutely genius! Cannot wait to see you boat once done! Best of luck!

  9. Prep time and time spent getting organised are never ever wasted.. perfect set up, she’ll be a good un better than ex factory Pearson !

  10. Actually the water level was used by the ancient Egyptians while building the pyramids.
On the other hand, the water level's precision actually increases with the distance over which you measure the level and it has the additional benefit of working even without a line-of-sight.
According to comments I have seen the laser level has a precision of ±3mm over 3m. So over a distance of 30m you could potentially have a margin of error of ±30mm. Meanwhile the water level, as long as there are no air bubbles in the hose, will have a margin of error of ±1mm over whatever length your hose can reach. You just need to take your time to let the water in the line settle to a steady state. Plus you can measure around corners and other obstacles, unlike the laser level that needs an unobstructed line-of-sight.

  11. Hubby was a general contractor and loves your track saw. Cutting multiple pieces at a time is a time saver.out of all the sailing channels you guys are our fav. All your ideas are so great. And both of you are equally talented.

  12. Container: Smart!
    Shelves: Smart!
Water Level: Smart! Cap both ends with a cotton ball to help prevent differential winds (wind-induced pressure) from giving you a false reading.

  13. Glad to see that you 2 are making progress on Uma. Ive never missed a posting from you guys.
    Kika.
Just wanted to say I am a bit of a news junky and have been seeing a lot of the goings on in Haiti. I hope its exaggerated by US media but I dont think so.
That said I hope that your family is safe and well protected.
Best wishes to and for then
