On the Dali incident….Watch the Port Camera Video of the crash….You will see it, the stern caught by the current flowing out, the bow should have followed same(if no power to the thrusters), but NO it steered true into the Bridge stanchion, Pure Intentional Hit….What was being loaded in port, that was delayed , that was so important to wreck the bridge & close channel????

5. I wouldn’t link this fire to climate change. Pretty clear its link is to people on the yacht being careless in having a fireworks show too close to shore.

6. The Dali crew should have been arrested. Why we let incompetent people get away with putting us in financial crisis, not to mention killing those who were on the bridge, to just run free is beyond comprehension. If any American ship with an American crew where in any foreign port, especially in a third world country and did what the Dali crew did, that ship and that crew would be held until the proper payments and fault would have been sorted out.

This is debating against the charges not the story, I believe Arson is the intentional act or deliberately setting fire to property. I'm assuming by setting of fireworks that was not their intention, not saying they are innocent, just believe it's the wrong charges.

28. Doesnt a fire have to be intentional to be charged as arson in Greece as it is in the rest of the civilised world? Unless they can prove the crew intentionally fired the fireworks at the forest to intentionally start a fire then they are going to have a hard time convicting them with an honest court. Strange how the other ship only has verbal statements and no video evidence of the accusations.

42. Looks like the crew are being thrown under the bus, or under the yacht.
    Even if a crew member set off the fireworks, I'm sure they were acting on orders from the owner of the yacht. Some poor crew member serving drinks to a bunch of selfish passengers is now sitting in jail, while the owner and guests are off ruining another part of the world.
    BTW, if the yacht has accommodations for 12 overnight guests, it would easily accommodate 17 people to watch a forest fire being started.
