Yes mooring in the wind can be fun, was trying to more side on once in very high winds all on my tod in a Dutch barge replica no bow thrusters, jumped of with a centre rope and the wind grabbed the boat like a big sail, luckily I had very long ropes and managed to get to some grass so I could dig my feet in because when I was on the decking I was being dragged along, my God I pulled a lot of muscles getting the craft in. Was a designated mooring spot and could not wait for a later slot either regarding mooring. Had a few situations like that in high winds over the years.
well now look at you make it look easy 😁😁 so Cap tell me i was wondering before you enter a port do you tell them the and beam of Yacht so they know where to berth u
If I understand correctly, you have a much smaller crew here than on AWOL and they seem less experienced, or you are using them for tasks that they have less experience at. This seems to put much more responsibility on you. Is that right? How is that different for you?
How does it feel to have people on the other boats watching you?
Thanks for your recent kind answer. I just subscribed! One more question. What are the two round "things" within two of the wheelhouse windows?
I’m so impressed by your cool manner and professionalism Bravo Capitaine.
Very impressive docking. Cheers from Canada
But, do you really need a clearance from Harbour Authority to depart? Or you can just inform them, aside from asking for assistance?
skills! thanks for sharing
excellent your split scereen with the controls
i hope 1 day meet you .
Capt., do you feel like you get tighter slips with a smaller vessel? Or was it just as tight with a larger one?
That’s the most stressful thing I’ve seen. I could never do that. My nerves are still quivering. lol.
A suggestion for radio comms. Dont use the word "repeat" when you need the person to say the statement again. Use the Words, "Say Again". This does two things, One it would be clearer on the radio mainly in high stress times. Second, That can save the word " Repeat" For the items that you need to have done again. Something like letting out a line a 1/2 meter or 1/3 meter, then needed the same amount again. It could take 2 or three days for the crew to get used to it but it is something that comes easy. The biggest part is when stress is high there need to be no question as to what is being said or asked.
Nicely done Captain.
Where is (perhaps misspelled) Jivanator? Your lovely lady I mean Tris..
great job again!!
I can't understand why they have such small places for these Yachts. It seems a bit insane.
An A+ for that my boy.
Nicely done i enjoy this a lot
What is the protocol for the crew of the yachts next to the arriving or departing yacht? Do you communicate with them before or after? Do they assist in any way?
Excellent videos. Really great to see the more technical aspects of boat/ship management and piloting.
ok and where ist the "strong wind"? you can see tha the flag on the neighbour boat istn waving. hmm
Awsome too watch!
Tricky maneuvering coming and going. Nicely done.
Wow!, That was awesome. Thank God for thrusters.
Strong wind, flag barely moving😵💫
This one was really good, very good to see both cameras in action for the docking! Well done!
How do you actually learn something like this without scratching up (or worse, sinking) a bunch of super yachts?
Amazing skill and concentration! Buy that man a beer
Thanks so much for Sharing …. Absolute Magic watching you do that Very Tricky Docking …. You had No Space !!!!!! Brilliant Seamanship …. Best to ALL from ChCh, NZ
