1. The keel should have been dropped. It was the lifted keel. The keel is the ballast (mabee 2 or three tonnes)

4. What you are saying makes perfect sense, even to me as a novice.
   I’m sure that with all investigations, “threads” to staff regarding legal action…..design will proof to be the reason at the end

How about the fact that the yacht had a refit that did not address the loose noisy keel that rattled at night if left in the down position so on a night at anchor in plenty deep water the Keel was left up instead of down where it should have been , they didn't want to disturb the guests deep sleep ….. they will get plenty of rest now . Criminal negligence . A high school hobby class could have tested the balance . Oh and why doesn't anyone give the weights of the mast and the keel ? Big secret ?

8. Sorry but I cannot see this observation as making necessarily sense…
   You can make such an entertainment area over any mast on any boat and not being a threat.
   It all bowls down to whether any way of water leading diwn below was left open when the strong wind blasted the SHIP possibly tilting it over it's critical angle.
   ANY vessel goes down if flooded with water.

I have felt for some time, that many designers/builders of Luxury Yachts, whether Sailing or Motor, are more concerned with stylish design and opulent "boastful" features, than actual "sea-worthiness".. Apparently in the last minutes as the yacht heeled severely before actually sinking, there are stories of furniture, crockery and glassware being flung about ad lib.. I'd want furniture more fixed and necessary loose items, such as crockery and glassware securely stored..

11. I have never liked drop-keels on big boats. On sailing dinghies, they are fine. Barely acceptable on small sailing cruisers. But unacceptable on any boat more than 30 feet in length. The Bayesian should have had a ‘long’ keel.

13. Finally, someone else is talking about the anchor; well at least saying that the Bayesian sunk while at anchor! The anchor and chain of a ship is designed to hold the bow of the ship into the wind during a storm so, when the ship was first blown around, did the anchor foul Somewhere under her, then came tight on the chain and flip her? There needs to be a full mapping of the anchor.
