A video posted of satellite tracking by the New York Post suggests that the anchor didn’t hold and that the boat was dragged some distance before sinking. What do you think?
That the mother didn't mention that the crew (Captain) helped her and her baby is not surprising.
In my work I have experienced an even mor drastic case. I talked to two survivors of a terror attack in Africa, carried out by gunmen. One of the survivors, a woman, complained to me that none of the men who were present helped her. Months later I came across one of these men. He told me that he and another man have dragged the same woman behind cover. When I told him what the woman had told me he instantly provided me with the name of the other man and of further witnesses. I do not believe that the woman was lying to me, I just believe that her memory was blurred due to the extreme circumstances.
For the love of god. This was a freak accident & nothing more. The people who lived were above when the storm hit those who died were down below. Just because the crew were above where they should be is not a reason to plant suspicious activity by them.
Thanks very much for your very interesting video.
I am new to your channel, and look forward to your next one.
Cheers
Mike
So the salon doors weren’t open to allow water in?
i 'd like to ask how is it possible that the crew members could climb back on the boat. Anyone know that once you are in the water, in the dark, frightned It's very very difficult ( if not impossible) to climb back on the boat without a boarding ledder
It's me or the cloths of the guy look dry?
With the last story, years in process & risk management taught me to never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by a computer having a bad day. LOL But the thought of someone on that super yacht catching a bit of 'The Yacht Report' on an iPad & scrambling to change their AIS data is too funny not to indulge in! 😂
It was a nice light-hearted end to the video, because that first story was elevating my blood pressure… RIP Gillam.
The yacht La Luna which has German flag hit small fishing boat. Three people were in fishing boat – 20yo Guillem, his 13yo brother and 45yo uncle. The yacht was going at full speed, they were screaming like crazy but it never stopped. Guillem took het fuul impact and was thrown away into the water and was killed instantly. The fishing yacht, three and half meters long, was practyically intact. In the sun you can read all article about accident, with foto and name main suspect.
Thank you. very interesting.
Thank you for your work !
Just a suggestion on IES showing dragging in a strange angle.
It might be as you rightly suggested IES error or data error from on board compas.
But this "sideways dragging" did happen to me on a 11m sailboat when the wind direction swinged suddenly from W to S to E to NE when anchored behind an island in Greece during a storm.
The chain was behind the keel (fixed keel) and we were dragging the anker with the chain perpendicular to the boat. We could see the chain in the middle of the boat with a flashlight. We started the engine, gave it a burst toward the anker, chain got loose and dropped below the keel.
We were safe!
Im not at all suggesting it would have worked with a 55m vessel in a tornado. INVESTIGATION WILL find the truth behind this terrible accident and there will be scratches on the back of the keel if the chain went behind it.
Best regards
Piotr
We like your reports, not just for yacht news, but my husband and I discuss your shirts, I have an interest in fashion and you have turned into an unlikely fashion icon in casual tops in our house!
1. Anchor is not holding. 2 boat turns. 3. achor get hold. 4. Disaster
will they resurface the yacht?
Thanks.
Well deserved reaching 300k subscribers.
the same sliding doors, that you were saying might be open hahaha
@eSysman. Thanks for sharing…. this is somewhat scary testimony and I'm looking forward to your comments. At the moment at which the sailor asserts "manually forcing open" the salon doors, it seems Bayesian was a) without electrical power to the salon doors, b) stable and level, and that, c), once forced open the salon doors would have both been left open, and would have freely slid on their tracks with the movement of Bayesian.
1. This is the same "sailor" as was on bridge duty.
2. The sailor both asserts and pantomimes "manually forcing open" the doors.
3. This implies Bayesian, at that moment, lacked electrical power to normally function the doors.
4. The salon doors are reported to EACH weigh over 1,000kg.
5. This implies Bayesian, at that moment, was both stable and level, allowing for "manually forcing open" the doors, and then manually sliding them to the open position.
6. There is no mention of re-securing the doors….. and the doors are possibly left open.
“Were” the doors closed, not “Where.” Typo.
I dont enjoy at all your reports. The only thing you want convince people , is that the Captain is not responsible for this tragedy!
A 20 knot breeze sunk the Bayesian? Seems unlikely to me. 🤣
Some years ago I was in canal boat that had a just 30 degree list when a section of the canal was accidentally drained. It was in no danger of sinking but it was extremely difficult to open cabin doors against the weight of door because of the list.
It would be interesting to know where the people who died and where they were trapped in the vessel.
It's a miracle the life raft didn't blow away in the wind. Amazing they saved everyone who made it out. Except for the chef I suppose. Very sad. Comes down to the 70M mast TBH.
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮 from Malaysia 🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾
Given his gesture of how he forced the doors open it does not appear to have occurred after/while the boat had heeled over, but some time before
Well it tells us the salon doors were not open when it started sinking – that’s a key theory as to volume of water ingress.
On Colorado river below Davis dam there were so many decapitations by personal watercraft that the local law ebforcement could not handle it and FBI had to take over.
So the crew got off the yacht before checking to see if anyone was on the boat?
It astounds me how often, not always, it is reported how these owners and guests ignore the efforts of the crew of these yachts! dehumanizing because s/o has money. A 'THANK YOU" can go a long way.
I find it odd that you should mention a car crash. Two days ago I encountered a severe car crash involving three vehicles. I arrived within seconds of that crash myself, before emergency responders were even called.
Unfortunately two occupants in one of the vehicles involved were trapped and we could not get them out before the vehicle was engulfed in flames. The incident occurred as a result of the fatally injured driver’s decision to enter the freeway going the wrong direction in a 75 MPH speed zone then head on collision with another two vehicles.
Personally the whole ordeal didn’t phase me much, I was a firefighter previously and have experienced similar incidents in the past. My wife however, who is a retired registered nurse was greatly upset that we couldn’t get the occupants out of the vehicle. Had there not been survivors in the other two vehicles authorities would have difficulty determining the cause of the crash.
Ya gotta get out, and a door is closed, guess what, that door is getting opened. When u go into survival mode, you do what you gotta do.
Do u have to earn a liscence to pilot a boat? The man who piloted the yacht should not be allowed to sail anymore, not with him at the helm. The fact that he didn't even notice, so close to shore, pretty muchbsays it all.
all bullshit
Rich partying kids with Daddies yacht, will always end in a tragedy or disaster, condolences to the family of the Spanish fisherman, hope justice prevails | The short video of the Bayesian crew member does give a small glimpse as to what was going on, and the mother who held her child above her head, hard to do on land let alone in the sea. Wondering if it is a 'legal' requirement for the Captain & crew to do a safety drill in case of emergencies on private sea vessels? | They were thinking of the tax haven cash by registering the yacht from Malta to the Cayman Islands.
Nothing about the Bayesian makes sense, we are to believe that a woman and 6 month old child were sleeping on Deck at 4am while the storm hit them throwing her into the water, does this make any sense and therefore the crew on watch knew that passengers were on deck at 4am.
Hi thank you for your very interesting videos.
Since you have mentioned the 2 incidents caused by the yacht La Luna in Mallorca I suggest you look for a video posted by "Diario de Mallorca" on the subject. There is a very short video where you can see how on the first incident the auxiliary boat from La Luna try to scare another very small boat in the cala, it's absolutely unacceptable that someone behave in such a criminal way without proper punishment….
I copy herewith a part of the text from the said media:
"El yate que embistió y mató a Guillem Comamala en Cala Bona acosó en Cala Agulla a otra embarcación
La lancha auxiliar del barco se lanzó poco antes hacia dos menores que iban a bordo de un pequeño bote para amedrentarlos ….
Congrats on the 300K!
This crew members comments raise a very interesting conundrum. Do you open the door to escape and risk flooding the yacht for everyone left behind, or do you stay put and seek other egress routes at risk of drowning yourself? Could the escaping crew have doomed others deeper inside the yacht? Are there any legal guidelines for making such a decision?
Congratulations 👏 on 300k ESysman.
