1. It does not look like many yachts in port will survive social upheaval. Riots coming will likely trash all the really nice stylish things. It will seem like it is "worth it" because militaries around the world will then cleanup their cities like they have been wanting to do for a very long time.

  2. Numarine's boats are so innovative and feature packed that I could never understand why their (interior and, especially, exterior) designs were so unfathomably ugly. Now that I've seen the way that the owner of the company has chosen to decorate his own boat, the poor, poor design choices of the range begin to make much more sense… very clever features, just hideous to look at. Also, I understand that it's nice to have the sofas in the main salon facing the large opening doors, but that means that your giant TV is opposite of a bar with no seating. How in the world would anyone watch that in comfort?

  3. The decor is nice, but the headroom really sucks. Unless you're 7' tall, that is really low ceilings. They seem to have designed the entire yacht around the beach club and the master balcony. I don't like the bridge either. Way too low to see very well. And I think they should have enclosed some of the top deck. It's huge, but completely wasted in poor weather. And why would they put all of the refrigeration away form the cooking area? It seems that they really need a better layout.

  4. that pilot house / upper deck does just not work. it gives the impression of a big muscular fellow with a tiny, tiny little head. silly looking. big massive TV in the saloon that does not line up with the seating. good thing the owner of the company did this one for himself. this seems like a one off which will be difficult at resale. the VIP bathrooms are lovely.

  5. Lots of comments concerning bad weather – this is almost surely a boat for the Med. The average number of rain days in the Med during June-September is 4-10 days. That's 1 day per month in most of the Med – not 24 hours of rain, but 1 day where it rains, most likely a light rain for a couple of hours. I'm dubious about the diesel-electric system and noise management but the layout, with all those open spaces, is absolutely fantastic.

Also, the concern Jacks mentions about crew quarters tends to be misplaced: they're largely just for sleeping. I like how some Italian builders don't even offer a proper crew mess in yachts this size (Custom Line, for example) – the crew will just use the galley. The crew doesn't actually spend any meaningful time down below.

  6. Some real innovation here. So many features to love. Amazing space for a 30m. Headroom and upper deck a little worrying for me if you are tall and like to entertain large groups.
Headroom looks very low in the main saloon. You said towering headroom but I feel like if you reached up you would have easily pressed your palm flat to the roof liner. The dark color doesn't help. Its probably comparable to other boats of that size and maybe that dark grey makes it feel lower. How did it feel in person? Did that light fixture over the lounge make you want to stoop or duck as you pass under it?
The massive entertaining area on the upper deck, could be such an amazing party space. I would think it could be well served with a dumb waiter, a dedicated serving area and a day head. Imagine 40 guests up top having to walk through 3 entertaining zones packed with other guests (Upper deck, Rear dining, Saloon) to access the small day head below. A head located right against the Upper deck roof pillar to port would take away from the open space feel the least.
All crew would need to ferry food and beverage through the pilothouse as the rear stairs are clogged with guests usual movement and the added traffic coming to and from the downstairs day head. A dumb waiter would help immensely if an upper deck head wasn't present.
There is no serving space for crew to prepare drinks and food up top without being bumped into by guests. Perhaps forward on the starboard where you said it was blocked would be a good position for a proper bar, close to the pilothouse stairs that the crew would have to ferry the supplies through.

  7. I was waiting for this review and it didn't disappoint. I noticed that you didn't mention the MSRP?
Hybrid is the obvious way to go, and I'd rather see a B'yond 37 styled tender/toy deck than a side door garage just because there have been several? sinkings caused by those doors scuttling their ship.
If this boat could tender a Saxdor 340 plus an Extender, you'd have a no-compromise mini-superyacht (less a mini-submarine and helipad of course :). The helm room needs to be reworked; a half-folding table (that converts to a bed when needed in a pinch) would be better in that space.

  8. Sensational MY and the interesting innovation of using electric power. Loved the décor, the combination of colours were just right. Some of these MY's have way too much bling but not here. Great presentation as always Jack, I got the impression you were on a tight timescale! but it didn't ruin the video. Simon

  9. When you walk around touching, pulling, pushing everything, what's your impression of quality and craftsmanship? Although it's an excellent camera work on behalf of your colleague it's hard to tell if things, bits and pieces are well put together (and will stay together over a long period of time in tough conditions).

  10. Do you know why all yards put the beds of the guest staterooms facing inside the ship? Would be awesome to have ocean view from the bed instead of having the hull windows behind the bed.

  11. I miss the Captains cabin being next to the bridge…though being close to the engine rooms…if the Capo does have an extensive skill set.
I have a question about explorer vessels and international waters; does a weapons safe onboard problematic for international ports…? Or do you not say amything. And yes I am American…but have you all been seeing what has been happening with missing people. Just curious.

  12. Jack…have you been able to take it on a trial run and what YOU choose full or hybrid; after all you have far more experience tha quite a few of us and we do follow you and value you and your colleagues opinions. reliability is my main concern….though I do care the environment and my pocket book.
