    8 legs is a great move though. Should be 10-12 imo to make a real race of it. The wind and sea-state made this a race to remember.
    Does LRPP have the NZ design package? Looks like INEOS has the same design package as NYYC….

  5. Can you please show us more information on the display? The shots of the boats doing manoeuvres is very impressive but tells us absolutely nothing; we can't tell where they're going because there are no reference points and we can't see any of the people on board anyway. Also, I'm really sorry to say it, but the filler commentary that adds very little but talks over the team radio is really frustrating. The team radio is much more interesting than hearing that it's tough to do manoeuvres in waves for the third time or comments about the camera helicopter in the middle of a mark rounding. The TWS and Accumulator % are fantastic pieces of information and they got like 10 seconds of screen time in a 30 minute race.

    The telemetry is literally the only way to relate to what is going on aboard the boats. Show us the accumulator % on every rounding, show us true and apparent windspeeds all the time, show us VMG all the time, show us distance to mark, maybe foil trim angles if that information is accessible, or mainsail car position.
    The boats are spectacular but I'm sorry to say that the information interface is really lacking.

    Take a look at F1 which shows not only speed but position on the track, pedal position, gear selection, DRS deployment/regeneration and more. It's so hard to relate to these boats otherwise; it was fine in the IACC days because the spectacle of everything going on aboard was more than enough to keep the audience entertained, but that aspect is gone these days and needs to be replaced with something.

  6. I noticed that too about Luna Rossa's foil boards. The connection area is much smaller like they cut a piece out and replace it with that little carbon arm, and the vertical foil section is both more narrow and significantly more tapered.
