5,000 hours on the diesels? Time to replace them. What is a good estimate? $40,000? Probably more?
I would want money to haul it away

Carver boats have few hours because when the owner finds out it a piece of shit they don't want be seen in it!

money pit
I bought it! Sweet video
Hey 👋 thanks 😊 that was interesting 🧐
I've worked on Carvers in the past. They're not great boats but big and roomy as liveaboards. I'm a sailor and former sailboat builder, so these boats aren't really on my radar anyway. But under 10k for a decent, spacious liveaboard is not too bad. As long as the hull is good and there are no leaks. Things like rails and things are easily replaced, especially in Florida.
They go between 75 and 100k ready to go
As an old welder ,Glad i dont live that side of the pond , All easy fix issues , and i would be asking the wife , Can i get one ?Cant help wonder what it costs a year in mooring or other unseen costs ?
60k to put it right, and then you still have a 30 year old Carver. I'd walk away. I wouldn't run, exactly, but that is a lot of work and mucho dinero
Was this same boat on NautiStyles a couple months ago?
Looks like it will need a lot of work.
looks like that black swamp water is what they thought was fuel
Just sit right back….
NO BUENO!! 👎🏼
Video ist wirklich interessant, aber die Stimme könnte besser sein.
What the draft on that 44’?
How does a person get to go to those auctions before they happen?
That’s my boat! I had just gone through a divorce and my ex wife was living on it. I had that boat in pristine condition before she ruined it.
The inside galley upholstery was re done in 2019. I used to wax and buff her every 6 months.
She never took on water during the hurricane, I’m not sure why there’s black water in the bilge. The engine room should’ve opened up, I was just down there a month or two before this video was posted.
She completed the loop once and I took her across the Gulf to Cape Coral, FL from Corpus Christi, TX. Those 8.3L Cummins still purred like brand new.
All of the electronics worked but after the hurricane the covers fell off and she never put them back on which is why they were damaged by the sun.
If anyone has any questions, let me know!
I imagine there are quite a few deals out there after the 1, 2 hurricane punch.
But now It's 28 years old and needs work everywhere, when a hurricane is in the forecast and people leave their boat in harm's way insurance should not cover it.
I had a '43 express cruiser. Large bi-level cockpit, enormous foredeck, while down below you had 6'4" headroom, u-shaped galley, typical salon, head w/ sep shower, etc.
But bottom line, yes, express cruisers are sexy to look at, the trade-offs are immense when it comes to interior space. They're best suited for day boats, overnighters, weekenders for a couple.
The 44' Carver is in a different league entirely. A gorgeous layout, generous beam, upscale flooring, diesels, excellent galley and dinette, good-size heads, and I think the lines are perfect.
OTOH, I'm not into the 36" at all. I never liked that period that started in the 2000s where the boats looked like hi-top sneakers. Not a nautical look in the slightest. I suppose I'm just a traditionalist and prefer making compromises that give you proper side decks, rails, and other features that favor seaworthiness and classic styling over fashionable interior spaces.
So many hoops and regulations uninsured or over insured boats. Good lord sounds like fun fun. I like it!
USS MInnow
$750 my final offer!
I would pay south of 10k. Its going to cost close to 100k to bring it back. It adds up quick and this is an old boat. I worked for Sea Ray and it pricey as hell just to sand and repaint the bottom. Could be nice tho. Glad to see the teak in good shape. Great video
Where can I bid on a boat like this?
bust out another 100000
