It would be interesting to see you talk to legal vices about this he’s an international maritime attorney working out of Korea
Not only is liveaboard diving dangerous, but every diving operation in Egypt is below all standards. It's all about money. I have been on several day trip boat dives, and I have never seen any emergency oxygen onboard. The snorkel trip are even worse
I'm not a lawyer but I am a journalist. "My car was arrested by its brakes. No crime was committed." Arrested means "stopped'. I hope that helps and it doesn't arrest the development of your Youtube channel!
I believe the channel Legal Vices specializes in Maritime law.
All these name changes and shell companies makes me think of the game 3 card Monty
Nicely done sysman thanks
Which ex KGB agents are NOT in politics in Russia?
Imagine being given detention after school for 3 years, your dinner might get cold.
I suppose it's the government playing dirty, they have nothing to charge you on to arrest you
but they can detain you indefinitely to be proper dogs. There won't be any clemency in the courts as everyone in the west is united with the Ukraine and opposed to Russia.
so they admit there was no laws or crimes in order to hold the yacht
The SuperYacht industry is full of 3rd party companies and hidden ownership and hiding to the point it makes you suspicious about everything to do with SuperYachts. When I've looked at some of the proposed designs, not all, but many designs by the "Owner" always seem to illustrate that the "Owner" has no idea about boat design.
Detained?????
M/Y Phi, Detained – Arrested, Potatoes – Potaartoe's either way she ain't moving.
4:12 "AZZAM" 😮
That should bring more people to London.😢
It interesting that it has a Maltese maritime flag and this was not mentioned locally.
So, where do you put the handcuffs?
that's a heck of a bow on Valorie. I wonder if it has a specific purpose or is just an exaggerated style
I feel really sorry for those crews whose livelihoods are being affected by the machinations of the ethically ambivalent people that employ them. By good fortune I have not been in that position, however maybe we need to remind ourselves that it is our professional qualifications and experience that enables such individuals and just maybe when we’re told to “rename” the vessel that we cherish, we have the courage to say, “no”, reminding ourselves that all that’s needed for evil to triumph is for good men and women, to say nothing.
Word of advice, I think you need to start employing a researcher to confirm some of the things you're reporting on. Admitting that you've not confirmed all of the incidents is fine but hurts your reputation IMO. By the same measure I'd also think it's worth finding a naval lawyer to have on retainer, as someone working from the UK you're going to be subject to UK libel laws which you do not want to fall foul of.
To the owner it is the most beautiful one I’ve ever seen
I just wanted to leave a comment ,there is another YT channel pretending to be yours,it’s called super yacht news ,they are doubling your videos ! They have over 12000 subscribers ,just asking if it is you ?
Words, Phi is not moving any time soon. Sadly for the owner, Im sure the government know what the reason is, its costing us tax payers enough to keep her ship shape.
In this clip between 0.21 & 0.25 has anybody else noticed the movement in the water 💦?
What ever words they use ,,,you aint gping anywhere FULL STOP …..✌️👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧💪🇬🇧🇬🇧👍🤨😂😂
PHI seems to me not very high above the water. Won’t even moderate waves crash all over it ?
I was very happy to get off the boat on a snorkeling trip in Egypt. By that I mean leap into the sea and tool around looking at fish while the boat suffered weather. The tourist money is more important than bad weather. Getting back on the boat was an adventure. The lost boats number seems kind of lucky it was so low.
It sounds like there's something of value on or in the yacht. It might not be the yachts itself that they want back. It definitely deserves more scrutiny from the authorities.
sounds like the same tactics used in money laundering not that i am suggesting anything so underhanded would be employed here !
they go by maritime law in the courts of the US.. when it should be law of the land , creator law..
Changing the name to fool them is a Monty Python skit level trick.
Spain: It’s the same yacht, you’ve just changed the name.
Meridian A: No we haven’t.
Spain: We saw you change the name.
A: No you didn’t. It’s not even a yacht anyway. It’s a sailboat.
Spain: Sailboat?? Where’s the mast then?
A: It doesn’t have one, but it’s still a sailboat.
Spain: either way, you haven’t paid your bills so you can’t leave.
A: We don’t even own the boat.
In general law, arrest freezes a situation which may degenerate. It simply means "stop". Human rights apply, including the right to enjoy one's property, but may be limited if th situation – in this case a war – persists. A notable precedent was Gerard Bull's Iraqi Supergun, where components presented as petrochemical pressure vessels were nothing of the sort – rather close to home as my father wrote the ISO Standard for Pressure Vessels!
Arrest will necessarily progress either into release or remand/seizure, but whereas the former has time limits rooted in habeas corpus, the latter does not, and Courts may be reticent to intervene, considering wars resolve themselves.
It's also critical in these shenanigans to recognise that legal identity falls generically into two forms of competence, physical and virtual entity. Others exist, "me and my mates" for example, but are not legal beyond conspiracy. Virtual entities (mostly companies, charities and recognised associations) are generally registered so the tax man can track them, but the use of tax havens is likely to be considered nefarious under the Proceeds of Crime Act, which does not recognise the need for proof absolute. In this instance, the authorities are likely considering A to be akin to Sesame Street.
Not a lawyer, much less a maritime lawyer, but in the US, an arrest involves a potential crime onemay have participated , but one can be detained foir questioning. Again, not sure if this applies in your case.
Same with building codes – very loose – Egyptian HSE drowned whilst on a diving holiday.
