#vg2024 #imoca #vendeeglobe #sailing

As a point of pronunciation, "Shiraishi" is pronounced with four syllables, SHE / RA / Ē / SHE. That is, all the "i"s are pronounced the same way, and vowels ("ai" in this case) aren't blended into one phoneme as we do in English. Rather, they are two separate vowel sounds spoken close together in time.
I learned this eventually after terribly mispronouncing many of my Japanese students' names in Japan, so you have my sympathy on this matter.
Fantastic episode Mark – thank you !!
Le Télégramme have released a video detailing some repaired damage on Charlie Dalin's boat – in particular the hull crack that explains him slowing down leading into Cap Horn.
Worth a look I think :)))
Excellent show and Conrad’s “Learning the Ropes” tour simply brilliant!
Heartfelt passing of the cape for Antoine

Yoann

2nd place but still a record breaker.
Lovely to hear from 'Sea God' Sam Goodchild

Good rope explanation love the channel
Sam withstanding the waterflows outranging
I am now sure Conrad can also recite the Periodic Table of elements from memory as well.
This is a very impressive discourse and organized talk to us about the lines controlling his boat.
Another great video Mark. Fantastic talk by Conrad. Keep up the good work.
What happened to Pip who won the Melbourne Cup
I can see the slamming. Not enough weight aft?
How do you get those drone-like shots of the boats sailing along? It's so cool to see the wave action on the boats. It's amazing what a beating the boat and skipper take! Poor Sam got drenched there. You can see the effect on boat speed when they hit. Makes me appreciate what Charlie and Yoenne accomplished.
Amazing cockpit tour by Conrad! Thank you!
Wow, great explanation from Conrod! Thank you!
