  1. It is a superimpressive build, nice work! But I don't really understand.. Are there even any parts from the old boat left? Did you even have to buy a boat in the first hand – couldn't you "just" build one from scratch (which is what it ultimately look like you did)?

  2. Makes one wonder the effort that went into building the large wooden ships ships of Nelson's time and before. Including the U.S Constitution. Everything had to be done by skilled craftsman w hand tools. The level of complexity (for the era)equals todays building of a modern warship.

  3. That was a very nice edit! When you started this project I was out of watchmaking school and just got a job. I watched your videos for the last 7 years during lunch break. To think that it took all this time to rebuild Tally Ho while in parallel I went trough apprenticeship and got to become a professional in my work is insane to me. It feels like it was ages ago you must have learned so much trough this. Thank you for sharing this beautiful project!

  4. This is obviously a work of art and not just a vessel. Dumb question though….are you re-building this ship or building a ship? I didn't see you save much during demolition. Beautiful craftsmanship!

  5. What a labor of love!
    Well done team Tally Ho
To image the man hour's of this build is incredible. The attention to detail is art. This short version is inspiring to anyone regardless of your interest in the project. Woodworker love it sailors love it adventure travels dreaming of the high seas love it. Far weather to the captain and crew on her next great adventure.
Respect and regards from the tiki shack.

  6. Невероятная по сложности работа и невероятный по красоте результат!

  7. Sorry, I don't understand that joke. Why TF did you buy that old boat the first place. You did not preserve a single splinter of the old wood …
You built an entirely new one.

  8. I'm glad you picked this title. I remember you bringing up the Ship of Theseus and this edit made one thing clear: You rebuilt Tally Ho and this is still the same ship that won the Fastnet Race in 1927. When you started the rebuild, you replaced her keel, keeping the stern, stem, frames, planks, ballast… You then replaced the stern and stem, with everything else still on the boat.

Really all you did is doing a whole lot of maintenance in a very short frame of time, which would have otherwise happened over the span of several decades. Honestly, it would not surprise me if someone getting their degree in philosophy would end up writing their thesis on your boat. Good job mate, see you around!

  9. Hi Leo, i watched every single video and subscribe.Wow we so enjoyed the build.I gasp at your knowldge and skill truly wonderful. Can i ask …what mistakes do you think you made that could have been avoided with hindsight? We always learn more from mistakes than anything else do you not agree?

  10. Amazing what you can do in a quarter of an hour.
I have followed you from the beginning.

    It's a fantastic result.

I look forward to you participating in the Limfjorden Rundt i Danmark when you have finished the Fastnes Race.

  11. This was such an amazing journey, so happy to have found you and the crew in the first month and have been looking forward to every new episode over the years. you amazed me with your bold approach and relentless craftsmanship. for now happy sailing from the port of Rotterdam. hope you can make her shine back in the UK. cheers

  12. Now a days when I look at any type of carpentry work it’s sub par at best , honestly I am impressed for once on the fit and finish and quality of work they put into this craft . Beautiful job and actually fit and finish looks great . It makes me want to build a boat now 😊. Thanks for the good content and hope to see more from you !
