13. I captained a passenger carrying vessel and was involved in the initial certification as to how many passengers it could carry,by doing a stability test,guess they skip that part there.This was done by the USCG

15. I think we assume the insurance inspections will prevent bad designs and bad manufacturing putting passengers at risk. Surprising how many new dive boats have had mishaps. Is the business model viable ? A new boat being delivered may have equipment failures (bilge pumps, shaft seals, alarms…) on its first time out. Wonder how what sea trials were performed.

    Sorry to hear about your back. I have had disk issues and surgery, just found a hydrotherapy machine at my new gym club … is easing my stiffness/aching and pain.

    Try to do one land trip and one live aboard a year, can’t imagine one sinking. They have to be terribly built and crewed
