I think she had 240.000hp and a top speed of 38 knots, which is faster than an aircraft carrier!
I remember the ss norway explosion we had a cruise booked on her which inevitably never happened as she was never returned to service

A picture of the SS United States going over 20 knots is out there. "Knot" impressed, it was in reverse! Basically it was a hot rod. Supposedly it had aircraft carrier engines and was easier to move through the water. The propeller designs were secret. It's top speed with no restrictions is speculated to be 40 knots. It's a shame it couldn't be repurposed on the ocean instead of

Any info on the SS Delphine? I saw her in Boston Harbor around 1967 and in Norfork, Virginia in 1990. She looked fantastic in her video after she was restored and back in the charter business in Europe. She is over 100 years old and held a lot of history when the USA
commandeered her in WWII. Dauntless was her

No one will buy Bill Gates's yacht due to it being Hydrogen fuel cells. Where do you get that much and was coal powered electric used to produce it. The yacht is a joke and you have to spend millions on it to convert it. An other money maker for Gates's pocket he hopes.
