1. Seems pretty clear this was down to human error. Whether the systems, radar, AIS, etc, on the container ship were working or faulty is irrelevant.
   When on watch your job is to look out for any potential dangers, large or small, 360 around your vessel. It's called being on watch for a reason…use your eyes.

2. I read the tanker was holding jet fuel for US air force. Maybe Roosky hackers got into navigation system of container ship and crahed it into tanker. Stranger things have happened!

3. This reminds me of a transcript I read back in the 1960s of an inquest into what was a radar-assisted collision. The chairman asked of one witness "was there anything wrong with your radar?" to which the reply was "oh no sir – we hit 'er smack amidships"

5. Hi I've worked out of GY on the windfarm for years. As a Master .The anchor vessel was in recognised deep water anchor on chart in the VTS HUMBER area the Salong running north the south cut through the anchoring area it was foggy but Radar? AIS was on but LOOK OUT ?
   We hear it quickit a bit ship in wrong channel and on the wrong VHF Channel . Quick call is no look out 95 % blame to Solong ? 5% to the one at anchor . He can call the other vessel. Your to close .

6. Hi eSysman (can't recall your name). I'm an Aussie holidaying in Italy & have just seen something (martime) unusual today at Brindisi port. Around 1pm a large group of Italian Navy divers were on a search mission. I noted about 2 hrs prior a so called "superyacht "docked at the port prominade. I walked past this vessel & looked intensely at it. What I sensed was this was an unusual vessel – it was poorly maintained & of unusual design (reminded me of the fake Egyptian dive boats to be honest). I have now put "2&2" together & have come to the conclusion this was a drug dump – hence the navy divers. Wow I can't believe what I have just witnessed!! 🥸🥸🥸🥸🥸🥸🥸
