Cant wait holly! 😎
I have to go out but I am so glad to see your back
So happy to see you on to another adventure
Welcome back …we missed you !!!
See you in another year or two then
Definitely water world vibes. I would love to have that boat. Y'all are incredibly lucky.
If memory serves, Holly is a crazy boat lady – a marine engineer no less! 👍⛵
That is a great idea for the Anchor Great idea for late night dingy safety lights put them on top of an engine amazing.
It is great to see you back Holly.
Nice. She’s a wild boat and slow & steady is always a good plan!😂
Awesome catamaran! Very speedy
And just like that, with whatever I seem to have missed, besides you, we are off on another adventure. Glad to see all is well
Nice job on the anchor roller. You may want to add a piece of starboard or other material between he anchor and the tramp to protect the tramp from chafe. If you are blasting through heavy seas the anchor could get pushed up into the tramp and chafe it through. Just a thought. Amazing project. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
It’s a good day on the water
Not a ship for people who are prone to claustrophobia.
Awsome what you're doing, but wach out you can overload the structure of the boat and could lead to some major issues when you start to load up the boat when the wind picks up. The main reason why is because the structure is not built for weight, and that is why the boat is pretty much empty. Also, be very careful if you go out in some medium to heavy winds because those ormas flip very easily. But in other words, good luck, and I hope to see you out on the water!
Hi Holly! Are you in a spaceship? 😳. It's so different from your sailboats from before. But it's so Cool. Love from Puerto Rico.
PS. Love your sneakers!
Before you get your full momentum back and while you can still read the comments…Thank you for keeping us from losing our minds during lockdown. We looked forward to every video. Glad you are OK and happy to have you back!
Great that yo saved this one. I remember this boat from her heydays, about 2001 I think, skippered by Jean Le Cam, a great man who is still going strong. Participated in the 2024 Vendee Globe, solo round the world race. Met him a few times in the nineties when I sailed mostly Formula 28 trimarans.
This boat is an amazing machine, but not really possible to adapt to cruising. It’s kinda misbehaving until you get it really powered up. Then it feels like a revelation, an incredibly smooth flyer. However, to properly power her up, you need good sails, well maintained equipment, skill and good nerves. You need to keep her relatively close to the limit to keep her feeling like a sailboat, not a raft, and to prevent slamming the windward ama on big waves. She probably doesn’t break from that, but it’s very unpleasant.
I think the best use for this boat isn’t modified to a cruiser, but as an event boat. Bring people out for a spin they will never forget. Maybe a fun race now and then. But new sails for this one is a fortune! Just the main is probably 190 square meters (near 2000 square feet). Loads are insane. Yikes! Jean Le Cam is still quite a hero in France and internationally among racing sailors. If you have interesting ideas, he might be interested in giving it attention. I’m sure he wants his old boat to live on.
Doing all the right things, soft pas eyes are probably better for what your doing but you'll figure it out, just keep an eye on the corrosion on the SS, it ends up being the sacrificial anode. There are soft padeyes that come with a screw on container to keep water leaks away. My ex was working at a boat show in Sydney Harbour a decade or so ago, she was running home in our little 10ft dingy and had a VERY near miss with a high speed catamaran ferry heading back to base. She ended up putting stick on battery LEDS on after that, yours looks way cooler.
Learned a few things watching this video! One of them, is you are fearless Holly! Climbing that tall mast and squeaking through those little holes. Great video as always!
Where are you look up they're spraying the shit out of the Sky above you
Got a claustrophobic episode on the couch just watching You
creepingproceeding into that hull, reawakening my darkest remembrances to my time as the tiniest, shortest apprentice in a boatbuilding shop creating very fast, very slim, extremely lightweight racing machines for Alpine lakes …… they needed a goblin to send into the crevices. And I am pretty sure today they chose me for a reason. Places to repair/reinforce afterwards with carbon laminate that were way too small to wear any protective gear like a mask or goggles or even proper clothing were my speciality. Until they weren't any more after they once had to cut a bow to get me out again (jigsaw witness marks present to date). Thanks for sharing! And a special thanks for the Dinghi-light.I'm glad to see you back! What an awesome project/adventure!
Sorry you deleted my comment with a link to Tritium sailing at 25kn, I just tried to be helpful.
its a car!its a plane! its a boat! its a spelunking simulator!
i wonder how much new main will cost when the current one goes to sherds
also reefing foresail might be a good idea
You will be able to water ski behind that thing… Don't fall off tho, a minute and you'll be a mile behind…

🤘!!!
Even in my skinniest of skinny days (and I am by no means claustrophobic) THAT is a journey of the most brave. "you'd think you wouldnt fit through that hole" yes ma'am, that is correct! and doing that for the first time and wondering how you will get back out…hyper-ventilating thinking about it!
