5. I understand that coding for both Android and iOS increases the effort considerably. But then why choose the platform with ⅓ market share over the one with ⅔ share? From a business perspective that's clearly a crazy decision.

6. There is an app called 'EZ Sextant' for android and iPhone that finds your position by using the phone's camera to make a celestial sighting. The running fix is automatically plotted so no sextant skills are needed. All celestial calculations are done in the app so no outside connection is needed.

   Be aware on spoofing gps signal. Spoofs move. It does show a gps connection !!!
   Those locations are not steady. You may sail a mile off on the plotter charts.
   The GPS blurs are mostly found near military stations and other important things.
   Count on a blurry gps as you may approach a important place. Get a land fix and compare.

   Gps antenna have a roll over Callander system. Old antennas extern or intern can roll over the last date thus do not know where the satellites are. Fix replace antenna or even the plotter. Raymarine antennas at the C serie area are one of those systems. They are not updatable. The installation of a new antenna is the fix.

10. A word of warning on Vector charts as opposed to Rasta. Some 10 yrs ago I was crewing on a delivery of a brand new luxury Lagoon catamaran from Western France's Les Sables D'Olonne, into the Med.
    We were often in sight of a similar vessel on a similar routing over a period of days and we occasionally hailed one another. One day off Southern Spain, some half or one mile offshore, on a bright, sunny early morning, I had the sense that sailors get when something is about to go terribly wrong. The skipper had forbidden crew to use the plotter (in fairness whenever touched it would loose track and was a poor design) or to make any course change without waking him. However, what with my acute sense of foreboding, I zoomed far in on the vector plotter chart and only then saw a long ridge going far out to sea just ahead of us, almost under us, just under the sea surface, a really odd feature, and so put in an immediate 100 degree course change. The skipper came up from his bunk, not very happy, and asked what I was about – I showed him and he gave a nod and a grunt and went back to sleep. Some hours later we were in port when the other cat limped in, clearly listing and damaged – it had ripped off a skeg and had an associated hole, obtained on precisely the feature we had just missed. I never did get a "thank you", but that's life.

    It was only by this hap that the lesson fortunately learned in yachting school books about the difference in the chart types was drummed right in, and I hope it's an anecdote useful to others. Without zooming far in, the underwater feature was totally invisible, not shown in any way at all, on the vector chart.

13. Open cpn has a celestial plugin to takeyour working 8n the almanach away, just throw in time and sextant reading
    Make a couple of measurements and get a fix
    It also alows to draw on the map, so compass fixes are also easy to do.
    And lastely , yes you get all this also for your phone and it is offline and you do not need any sextant.( Where is the fun?)

17. You need to clearly explain how you determine GPS Spoofing. Spoofinng comes several flavours, I am told, from the sudden on/off variant you showed, to a gradual not so obvious variant – which may even be “modulates” (meaning slower variation over shorter time periods – like half hour).

18. Maybe the NDB beacons should be retained for the future if things deteriorate.

19. I have standard horizon vhf with AIS. I then overlay the AIS info onto my iPad running navionics so I can see what other boats are where using a YAKKER unit to create the link. Can your system do the same? Ie can I overlay the AIS info onto the iPad using your system instead of navionics? Thanks James

21. Impressive, but it seems odd to aim software at a minority OS first. Android is far more common than Apple's proprietary system.

22. I wonder what happens if the US GPS is disrupted and I can also receive GLONAS positions. Presumably, these won't be disrupted. According to the manual, my plotter supports both systems simultaneously. Does anyone have a concrete answer?

23. Question, does the App record and easily let you know what the boat position was and the time immediately before the GPS signal was either blocked or spoofed? as that would be enormously helpful

    Please could you allow the line to go the full length of the bearing, but the part behind the black dot could be in transparent grey. This could be a user preference.
