1. I'll say it clearly for the people in the back: ONE JURY VERDICT IS NOT PRECEDENT. The traditions of maintenance and cure and unseaworthiness are centuries old. Hundreds of seamen get serious awards every year because they had serious injuries, had their cases pled well, and had favorable facts. Remember, the jury is the trier of FACT, not the trier of LAW. If a jury finds that seamen aren't entitled to a lot, it says NOTHING about whether the law is good or not. It may just be the case that the jury didn't believe the seamen's injuries were that severe. Or it may be that the seamen had most of their maintenance and cure paid for, and they were fighting over smaller amounts. Nobody freak out over this story.

There is nearly no refits going on here. All Marinas have just parked Yachts. I hope this will change soon. Don’t know if this affects the crew of these vessels too. Billionaires are holding on to their money and invest in the bouncing Markets. Crazy times.

7. So, what I don’t get is, a charter cost you in the hundreds of thousands dollars, just for one week. You might think that the medical cost should make no dent in such a big business and just pay it before getting bad publicity for the Yacht and Owners. Cruel business.

8. Looking at the video of the jolt and seeing the crew, it looks like nobody would have a real injury like washing dishes then a jolt but they did not even fell. Those injuries seem totally exaggerated.
