  1. Love to see how that fat bow copes with Solent chop and how juicy it is at sub planing speeds in 10kt harbour speed limits

Plus that massive crunch at 13:50 would have your significant other and your guests demanding to be taken to the nearest restuarant or chiropractor. That is not a vessel for a high speed cruise…

  2. It boggles my mind that we get to see how $160K will get you such a poorly designed and engineered boat with shoddy electrical wiring systems. I see these boats burning left and right and the insurance companies unwilling to insure them. 🤦‍♂️

  3. Nice little boat, spacious and a good layout for its size. You get quite a lot of boat for your money. Performance wise it seems ok for what it is, after all its not trying to be a serious off shore vessel. The only negative I saw as already mentioned was the state of the wiring behind the dash it looks so unprofessional and makes you wonder what the rest is like under the bonnet so to speak. Great tout any way Alex thank you.

  4. Thank you, Alex. I was looking forward to this promised review. “Driven as needed” looked a bit abusive to me, parallel to and into the 2-3m swells. You looked like you were bronco busting at a rodeo. Low speed marina maneuvering given the windage would surely be making max use of those two engines. But yes, 5 quarts in a gallon container.

  5. This does not seem worth of 160 k. I think the value is exaggerated because benetau brand name. Definitely I would not want to buy this boat. But thanks for the video.

  6. Its not a bad boat but but I'm not sure. She's not for me, but I can see someone wanting her. Maybe a first time owners? Sorry Alex, like you comments on what should be changed. She's not for me..

  7. I find it absolutely astonishing that Beneteau allowed that Antares 9, in that condition to be sent to a boat show? Whoever did the wiring job behind the dash, and their supervisor, both of them should be either retrain or dismissed, that workmanship is completely unacceptable. It therefore begs the question; what's the workmanship look like on items you can't see? it's also unfortunate the amount of noise transmitted through the hull, otherwise from all outward appearances, the Antares 9 appears to be a great value at 160k, but… "you can't judge a book by its cover"
    Thanks, Alex for the tour

  8. A lot of banging and slamming – but you drove it aggressively. Though for that kind of money why not get a older but much nicer boat? That would be an interesting series. You review a boat and Nick goes out and finds a used on for the same money that's better.

  9. Thanks for this review and test on water, I have a Antares 8 V2 but I wait a little for this Antares 9 V2, Is there a cutlery drawer under the sink?. The front cabin is really spacious , are you standing in the toilet, and the navigation behavior is good in the waves, I find it a little expensive, especially with 2 mercury V8 250 with JPO.

  10. Thanks for this test, I don't know if it's worth it at the moment to change my Antares 8 V2 for this new Antares 9 which I find a little expensive, especially with 2 Mercury V8 engines with JPO. I look forward to seeing other tests

  11. I agree with much that has been said. Beneteau have let themselves down by the condition of this boat. The wiring is a complete dogs dinner that could so easily have been tidied up. The doors opening and banging is also very poor, perhaps fit catches that hold them open when it is a bit lumpy. A little more attention to detail, and this would be a nice little package. The hull slamming is inevitable under these conditions with a hull like this. It could be an advantage. Take your mother in law out in the Solent for a bit of wind over tide, and she will never come back. 😂
