18. Always arrive a day or two earlier than a scheduled deployment. Than way you can rest at a hotel and go swimming g or whatever suits your fancy. Sure it costs a bit but,. it is always worth it to be on top of your game.

20. One year we had our Christmas party in August. Many of the boats were off to the Pacific, Alaska or Indian Ocean. It just happened we would all be together for just a few days in Antibes in summer. So, off to the supermarket for turkeys and sprouts. Silly paper hats were worn, the locals thought we were all mad.🥳

21. I heard from a member of a Greek "organisation" that tried to convince me that contrails from jet planes contained som chemical ingredient that pacifies us… Must be true, eh?

    … and it reminds me, when I was looking for careers advice for my son a few years ago, it would be great if folk from across as wide a range of occupations as possible could do similar content and link it together and give the youngsters some insights into options for their future employment. I found a big catalogue in the library which told us what A-levels were needed but definitely didn’t help share any of the fun or challenges the jobs would likely entail.
