Nice boat that will take you around tge world in style. 🙂 Wishing you the best.
If you have false teeth !!!! put some steradent tablets in fresh water in the bottom of the bowl agitate & leave 24 hours & it helps clean the very bottom that you cannot get to easily
I think that filter is on the wrong way round. Usually the bulb end is from the tank.
Another step closer to solo atlantic crossing
I enjoy all the commentary- it’s very educational- as a beginner myself you are a lot more knowledgeable even though you’re learning as you go. As a future boat owner all these little experiences are priceless. Thank you 🙏
Plus you have bought an amazing boat – definitely best choice for circumnavigation ❤
Congratulations. Well done
I didn't think you could discharge a toilet directly into the sea anymore ? A long time ago it was the norm.
With regards to the fuel filter orientation, if you turn it the other way around, if there is any debris or contamination, you can see it. The way round you have it, you can't see potential contamination
Don't forget the fuel return, you don't want to waste good fuel back into bad tank
That toilet looks like it is vacuum operated, which means, after use you close the airtight lid and pump it out. Under no circumstances should you operate the pump whilst sitting in situ. I'll leave it to your imagination what will happen if you do 😚😚
Absolutely beautiful boat, reminds me of my own but more spacious. I wouldn't be in a rush to replace that bronze seacock, they're very servicible and hard to replace with something better without spending a lot of money. You can take out the cone when on the hard, clean it up, use a grinding paste to fair the surface and put it back in with a good bronze seacock grease (blakes or the likes). You'll need to do that every few years.
Hey bud! Moored just a few metres away at Lake Pier on my Contessa 28! Good luck on your adventures, you've probably gone by now?! Fair winds!
Well it turned into a good video after all and the motor sounds well, it's possibly been well looked after? It will put your mind at ease when you get the water temp working. Looking forward to next week already.
Is that hatch line long enough to snag in the rotating prop shaft?
You’re going to change your eating habits, lose weight and hit the gym, morbidly obese sailors don’t do well keeping their vessels upright in the high seas.
What boat are you buying next week? 😂
Yeah that’s a boat. You look quite at home already. Sweden next summer mate?
The cursed diesel bug. My tanks were that bad when I bought my boat, I scrapped them
The blakes seacock just needs servicing. Fully bronze and much better than modern versions.
Hi, only just discovered your video's.Good so far!! I think I'm right in saying that the later blakes seacocks have a grease nipple on them,so find yourself a grease nipple,a suitable tap and tapping drill, and fit one. Not to be done while afloat though!! I agree with the other comments, don't change the seacock – upgrade it.
Just class buddy ots t4 lovers here
Long Live Fin.
The bracket thing in the heads locker may be for a 907 gas bottle spare. 🤔
I have done a similar thing with a boat with dirty tank I used a pipe for an outboard with the priming bulb in it just in case
As rows3063 has said below, you need a return line back to that fuel tank.
When installing my clearish header tank I was suprised to see that most of the fuel returns without being used.
The return line would already exist, coming from somewhere past the injector rail and going back to the gunky tank.
With your system at the moment diesel would be flushing through the system with the majority ending up in the gunky tank and only a percentage of that jerry can actually fueling the engine.
"some systems like Cummins PT or Yanmar 4JH2 can return over 80% or even 90% of the fuel, respectively. " wiki
Nice boat captain, looking forward to seeing where she takes you, good luck my friend.
What about fuel return line it will just return to main tank no good
