Hello Doug. I have been told by some that for MSC, it's the Yacht Club or nothing. But I seriously question it's value. It is entirely my style and I/we will book it without a doubt not more than a few months after winning the lotto. Another great video. All the best to you and yours.
Good morning Doug,
My wife and I are booked on our first MSC cruise on there newest ship World America in the Yacht Club on deck 21 port side of the ship in a deluxe balcony suite for the October 25th 2025 7 night Eastern Caribbean sailing.
We are not MEGA ship people per say or big fans of MSC from past reviews we have read but we needed to see for ourselves what this brand it all about so we chose to give it a try.
The itinerary, time frame , price , new ship and yacht club reviews sold it.
With a ship of 6,700 passengers the only way we would sail this ship was in yacht club to have the best of both worlds of exploring this massive ship and being able to avoid the big crowds when needed + all the benefits of yacht club are big incentives.
Don't know if you have been the MSC's World class ships but yacht club is set up somewhat differently and veteran MSC passengers tend to not like and say new passengers like myself have nothing to compare to so no complaints from myself as we have yet to sail WA or any ship with yacht club.
Our preferred line is Celebrity and we have our second cruise booked with them for March 2026 on Ascent for an 11 night Panama Canal and Southern Caribbean ABC Islands cruise in a Aqua Sky Suite deck 10 port side and the retreat experience.
This will also be a first for us to sail on Celebrity's edge class ship along with suite category and the retreat with it's amenities.
Prices for both these ship within a ship concepts for my wife and I are with the accommodations mentioned above are
MSC World America Yacht Club $ 547.00 per person per day for 7 nights.
Celebrity Ascent retreat experience $700.00 per person per day for 11 nights.
We feel pretty good with both cruises and what we are getting for the price paid but we shall see as we have never experienced these accommodations before as we are just standard balcony folks but at 58 yrs young that is changing and we are wanting more luxury and space. We probably will be spoiled and never go back😅🤣😂
Thank you again for the great review!!
MSC people love them or hate them. Never in between.
Definition of "Dungeon" is a room with no windows. How did you like living in a Dungeon?
It looks very difficult to lie in bed and watch TV. Terrible layout.
Roughly, what is the difference in price for the Yacht Club, for a similar cabin?
Did you pay for this trip or was it a "press trip"?
Thank you for this excellent video! I'm very interested in the yacht club and the retreat, so I definitely look forward to your video comparing these!
The inside saves you lots of money!
Besides, you're out enjoying the EXCLUSIVE areas of the Yacht club.
You dont need a balcony . I only have a balcony when in the "gen pop" . Because its your peaceful place to retreat away from the crowds and noise. Which you DONT get in Yacht club.
We always book inside in the YC experience
We just sailed this same ship for 4 nights. First time on MSC and we did the inside cabin in Yacht Club. We loved it, and we also know if we sail MSC again it MUST be in Yacht Club because gen pop was a mess!
We sail about three times a year. Typically we go between Royal Caribbean Suite package and MSC Yacht Club. Obviously I understand and respect that everyone has different preferences and budget limits. Here are my opinions: Customer in YC we has always been exceptional. However I do believe that their website and pre-booking customer service is inferior to RC. Food: we are not foodies but the food in the YC is on par with RC main dining. Cabins: we prefer RC suites to MSC cabins. Butler service: no comparison! RC provides a suite concierge who has always been present but cannot cater to everyone. Our MSC butlers have been exceptional! Quick story … we were in a hot tub on the YC pool deck and it started raining. Our butler are saw us, grabbed a towel, got soaking wet and came out to escort us in! YC Lounge vs RC Suit bar: YC bar is open all day with great food and a full bar and is never crowded. RC Concierge lounge is much smaller and does not open until late afternoon. The RC suite lounge has a limited bar and finger food. As far as the price goes, yes YC is about double the price of non YC but when you consider the unlimited drink package is included and basically you are guaranteed pool seating and upscale main dining …. The price is reasonable. It is true for us…. Once we experienced YC we will never sail non YC again. However we would consider sailing non suite on RC because frankly, there is not enough difference in balcony versus suite perks. We are sold on MSC if you go YC. The extra price is well worth the upgrades. We are not so high on MSC without YC.
We sailed on MSC in Feb 25. For the most part it was a good experience. The service level was piss poor though. Our butler was non-existent but the junior butler was always around. We saw the captain of the ship more than we saw our butler. The room was nice and spacious, the food and drinks were great. We never received our bottle of alcohol until day 3 after reminding staff we wanted it. We had to ask for our robes for 2 days, and the first night they had put stained sheets on the bed. This happened again on night 3 when they changed them. The attention to details was seriously lacking on many levels. The entertainment was lackluster and wasn’t worth it. Overall yes we did enjoy ourselves. We had to speak to staff to get service issues resolved including the electrical issue in our cabin that took several days to resolve because the concierge desk did not file the work order like they said they did.
Can you get two adjoining yacht club rooms?
We sailed a 7 day Seascape Yacht Club and it was an amazing experience. The thing I miss most is the staff. Their service was top notch but their friendly, attentive personalities made them actual friends. Would definitely recommend.
Looks beautiful
Excellent review thank you so much…
We're doing the Yacht Club for a 7-day on the Seashore in October, really looking forward to it.
