  1. And that in a nutshell is what’s wrong with a lot of society. Nothing he said justifies the purchase of a yacht. That justifies the purchase of a boat, not a yacht. Eat the rich.

  2. Why is it so easy for rich people to get right offs and yet poor people still have to pay taxes even when they make too much to be considered poor but too little to actually be considered anything other than poor still. 😅

  3. The tax audit was over in 5 minutes. He left there high fiving the IRS and the judge…and then he woke up from his dream. What a mega bullshitter. Tell me u have zero tax background without telling me you have zero tax background.

  4. Honestly, in both the Netherlands and the U.S. you basically can’t write off a yacht as a business vehicle unless it’s the actual core of your business (like chartering or fishing).

Netherlands: Tax law (Wet IB 2001 art. 3.14–3.15 and the BUA) treats yachts as representation/pleasure assets, so costs and VAT are non-deductible. Only in very rare cases (like properties only accessible by water) and with >90% proven business use could it qualify, and the tax office is usually very strict.

U.S.: The Internal Revenue Code (§162 and §274) calls yachts used for entertaining clients entertainment facilities—and those are flat-out nondeductible. You can only depreciate or deduct a boat if it’s genuinely part of the trade.

So if a real estate agent claims they wrote off a yacht, either they’re not telling the truth, or the tax auditor didn’t do their job.

  5. Even if i did believe this, helping a rich person get out of paying taxes with a bullshit “business” expense is a shitty thing to do. But also if you have to try and write your yacht off on your taxes you just don’t really have yacht money and you’re a poser 🤷🏻‍♀️

  6. I don't think showing clients a house from a boat is "ordinary in nature', nor 'necessary'. Certainly doesn't sound reasonable.

  7. It would be a lot smarter for an income and taxable perspective to just Rent the cost of this so called "Yacht" and maybe write off those expenses than just buy a huge asset like that as a means to write off damn near all the taxes one would owe to the government.

Some of these guru vids love to tell kids that they can just make extravagant purchases and claim its for a business so that they can axe their taxes on based on spending it on said item.

Its better money to just borrow, rent, or lease it, look "rich" for your job, and still maintain your dough…at least thats how I would do it if I were in this position.
