Butler, now that's fancy! Bowling!!! Ship looks amazing and Yacht Club definitely seems like a great way to go! Love these vlogs!
Thank you for showing us your embarkation and your walk around the ship.
I was on board in July 🤩
Fab vlog guys. 👏
I fear that once I have a butler I may never go back! Great video and really enjoyed your embarkation walk through the ship. Thank you for sharing! 🐸
Another great video. Thanks for mentioning the 15 drink limit. We won't come near 15 a day either, but wanted to avoid the nuisance factor of showing our card for every drink. Your comment lines up with other forum comments where it seems the 15-a-day limit is not now being applied to YC guests. Cheers!
the 15 drink limit applies for alcoholic beverages only and I didn't see it being applied, I would only assume this was more prominently worded in the T&C in the recent few years after the cruises started to be frequented by the very young groups of ratpacks. Which is actually a reason that brought me to your video – if I will go on a MSC again, it will only be to try Yacht Club again. Never seen the appeal of it before, but now I do. I just returned from a week on Grandiosa, it was my 2nd trip on the ship, first was in 2022, my 3rd cruise with MSC overall, last year we went on the Seaside. Comparing Grandiosa 2022 and 2025 trips, the main difference – almost no upsell. There used to be challenge videos amongst the cruise youtubers who can make it across the Gallery without being aggressively stopped by the staff to buy drink, internet, excursions, photo packages. It was horrible. I remember the first moment embarking on the ship, after all the checks in the terminal, a staff member asked to see our cruise card one more time – acting all serious like he was last line of security, only to find out he was only checking if we had prepaid drinks and then tried to sell an upgrade, very, very aggressively. They would roam the buffets, bars, every minute. Not anymore, it was still quite annoying l ast year on Seaside, but this year on Grandiosa almost no peddling. What was also improved was that nobody did really care about the drink orders – last year, I wanted to order 4 coffees and some drinks, "I need at least more card" was the standard answer. This year I was ordering 6 coffees, taking 3 bottles of water, 3 glasses of wine, nobody wanted to see 2nd card, they all happily put on my, I was the main "drink valet" for our group, even not counting the wine we drank at lunch or dinner I definitely crossed the 15 drink limit at bars, nobody ever asked or did anything in that regard. Heck, you get 1dcl of wine at a bar, 2dcl in restuarant. Crossing the 15 limit takes not much drinking if you order for 2 in the cabin with your card, spread throughout the day. But there were a lot, a LOT of early 20s young people who seemed to take on a challenge to waste as much food and beverages as possible. The table after breakfast with leftovers could feed 20 people, they would block the whole bar by ordering dozen of mixed drinks, only to not touch half of them and only taking sips of the other. Luckily they did not find the Horizon bar and adjacent Cigar lounge too attractive, so there was a haven for people who wanted to have their "yacht club for poor people", but the Horizon bar and the main pool bars were littered with mongrels. We went for breakfast, lunch and dinner to the restaurants at deck 6 and barely stepped foot into the Marketplace buffet, it was not pleasant experience even in off-peak hours to get some fruit. Last year when they offered the "upgrade" of balcony cabin to yacht club inside cabin for 900 EUR I laughed at that "deal" because the separate lounge and other benefits were not worth the money to me, but next time, I'll take a bunk bed cabin with yacht club access if I need to.
