12. The ropes in the water tells it all, no clue. On the other hand, there is a pretty bad current, and that boat is like a leaf with the centerboard up….not very easy for a beginner.

22. First off the mate ran the tie off over the railing. Second when she saw he was having an issue she tied it off way too lose. Alex must have seen what was going on and should have gotten out to help and fast. Lastly the captain was off his game and spoke too harshly to his 'helpers'. Sad all around.

35. The real problem here is 2 fold – lack of communication and lack of preparation. Captain should have gone over everyone's job in detail before coming to the dock.
    That includes how the bow line is run (under the pulpit rail) and preparing the rear line so she has both in hand. The woman does not know how to tie off the boat but all he does is yell at her to tie it off. A clear instruction to shorten the line would work much better. Preparation should have included some crew training.
    The woman is very unprepared – almost falls in getting on the dock. She has no spatial recognition, tying the line way too long and over the pulpit. Alex should have the parking brake on and be out there helping from the start. But the real solution was to be clear what is to happen and who does what and how.

36. If he lost control at the helm and is operating the boat at the outboard, this is actually not that bad. If the boat isn't broken, it's pathetic. You never saw this shit years ago. It all started in the mid 80's. Suddenly stupid people discovered boating
