I know closed cockpits are the biggest invention since sliced bread, but the footage has lost much of its charm. Instead of heroic sailors fighting the elements you have a bunch of dudes managing a tangle of ropes and looking at screens.
Heat from the engine? Are engines allowed to be used in the race?

they have several models of AI in the “routing” and the forward looking camera on the masthead looks for debris with ai

Holcim has been given redress of SIX POINTS for leg one? Even though they didn't even race it. That jury gave them a sweetheart deal, especially as it wasn't even that clear that it was completely Mapeis fault.
Okay the teams 1st leg score is the average of the teams score for leg 2 through 5. It may change. Talk about putting uncertainty into the race.

I’ve never been sailing but this series is absolutely absorbing! It’s very useful for me anyway to have the technical issues explained. And also how the wind affects their performance. Thanks Niall for your comments and whoever is onboard taking the images. Your doing a great job!
