OMG enough with this boat.
So much easier to buy one of the Royal Nay’s P2000 CLASS training vessels. Better still one of the old PAS (Port Auxiliary Service) boats on just about 15 to 20 metres LOA. might need to remove the internal 1950’s MOD cabin furniture but give it a bkue hull and a gold band and you’re onto a winner 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
If you grind them welding marks down it weakens the structure look at the way bearing builds yachts there left in there and by the time all the coatings and everything is done on it it's smooth this could be in a stronger structure
You grand down your welds for a reason. One u can tell if u get a proper weld.
If the welds were efficiently done to spec, then you could smooth them off, NOT grind them down.
This is an FBP boat.
How much extra to polish out the welds?! 😂
In proper sea state, one could perhaps go anywhere.

Polishing down the welds would have made them stronger by removing any small pits and imperfections. The smoother surface actually helps to make it stronger. They should have explained that to the owner.
