  3. I think for captains and crew to understand “The Rule of Thumbs” is very important for novice boaters with twin screw boats. Port in neutral, starboard forward will move the bow to port. Starboard in neutral and port in reverse will move stern to starboard. Just look at your thumbs , the direction they are pointing and be patient. N3ver go faster than you want to hit something. A boat will carry momentum from speed, wind and current

  5. This family (like most) wasn't ready for the learning curve. Except for Dad they looked to have that deer-in-the-headlights look (go figure). But you're style seemed to snap at least one of them out of that. I said it on another one of your videos a couple months ago, I love your way of explaining things BEFORE doing, not WHILE doing. It give's the person time for that explanation to soak in at least a little before they're actually doing it. Then when they're doing it and something goes a little sideways their brain already has at least some sort of reference point instead of trying to digest a hasty set of instructions on the fly.
